My heavy Shortbow says 10-20 damage with it equipped 50-63 is my damage read out.
My new Short Ash Bow says 12-23 damage with it equipped 42-56 is my damage read out.
Right off the rip that is strange to say the least since Damage isnt a read out of APS just Damage per hit correct?
My DPS with the Shortbow is 24.7 (2.50 attack speed)
My DPS with the Short Ash Bow is 28.3 … (1.90 attack speed) it should be ~35% higher from the readout given in green with the bow diff 6 dps (shortbow) vs 9.2 dps (SAB)
I went outside Darnassus found mobs tried each a few times shortbow hits harder?
This must be a bug.
I have video

I just read some forum comments about this same issue in 2019 … 4 years later
I need a better explanation because the DPS readout on the bow itself for Shortbow is
6 Damage per second lets do the math. 2.5 speed 10 - 20 damage … 15 is the average damage, 1/2.5 gives us the actual attacks per second .40 so Attacks per second * average damage = DPS lets see what that is .40 x 15 = 6 OH BIG SURPRISE ITS ACCURATE.
now we do this again for Short Ash Bow 1/1.9 = .5263 APS (12+23) / 2 = 17.5 x .5263 = 9.2 DPS so logical conclusion is that both the Damage #'s and the Speed are the actual Damage per shot and how long it takes per each shot.
Ergo this " Bow damage consists of two components:
- The bow damage listed
- Extra damage per second based on attack power
Since the new bow is faster, it’s quite normal to have lower individual hits, despite the higher base damage.
If you find an add-on that restores the BFA (well, BC) character screen, you can see it there. " Post I found on the 2019 thread is bs
The bow is bugged and has been for 4 years? I havent played this game in 15 and just restarted in Classic SoD and you’re telling me this kinda stuff isnt taken care of?
