Just like releasing M+ in Legion, I think Blizzard is going to unknowingly put out what will be very popular content. Being able to log in and play any healer I want regardless of meta, where the only barrier to entry is a queue timer–and keeping it solo/duo queue keeps me from zoning in against a premade (like basically all random BGs are now) will fix so many different negative things about different brackets.
Once you get highly ranked, be prepared to recognize everyone, especially if you play in off hours. WoW’s PvP community is pretty small.
I was playing last night and at least 4-6 people from a previous match would wind up in the same match again. My teams on Dragon are normally around 2k mmr, but idk if mmr is accurate at this time.
Update: Yea, in the past 5 games I’ve had, half the BG is the same first page RBG people
That’s the best part. Once you capture a node it’s on lock for like a period of time, so no one really needs to sit them as much as just watching them. lol
Tbh, it doesn’t feel that different from normal bgs. It does make the khan achievement farmable, which is the only title I’ll probably ever wear if I get it.
Hopefully it breathes some life into BGs. The RBG community basically devolved into 1-2 teams that farm everyone with 95+ winrate and dodge each other. MMR increases and dead bracket in BGs where even if you’re in an 1800 MMR yolo, you’ll face one of the top ranking teams within 2-3 wins. Made for a completely dead and annoying bracket.
Only negative i see from it will be anyone trying to get high rating from it if there is titles and rewards attached to it. It has alot less player agency. Some classes and meta classes will have an advantage for sure. It will be hard for non meta dps to climb depending on the healers they get. Its great though yea, gets rid of premades and faction imbalances. Looking forward to it.
I maintained RSS would be a train wreck, but BGs are an entirely different creature. Less stress, easier games, etc. I think they’ll be a big hit, personally.
Yeah, I agree. BG nights out of Discord were basically 2-3 games before MMR got to like 2200+, then you queue into Ragnaros main team and get crushed. Lol
Super pumped too. The only downside of RBGs is being in discord with people who RBG who screech because their triple DR stun didnt result in a kill, or the sub-challenger quality automaton screaming whatever pops up when he hits the tab button. Great direction for thr game
