This AK nerf is literally pointless

"People were gaining AP too quickly".

Yes. And they're doing this in the mid-30s. NEW players will get Concordance on their way to AK40 STILL. My alts get ~45 traits within a week at AK THIRTY.

The only thing this change does is make collecting AP literally useless after a few points in Concordance because it will quickly take years to get one rank of it.

Why even have it in the game at this rate. Maxing your artifact was insurmountable at AK50 (would require 24/7 grinding for 10 real-world years), so what does this accomplish? lol

They said they lowered it because our efforts now will "feel meaningless", but I'm pretty sure AP will be entirely meaningless to players once they hit that feeling of "welp, I don't feel like grinding AP to get 1 rank of Concordance for 4 months of effort".

I already stopped caring about AP because it felt insurmountable, now with the fact that the time-effectiveness of grinding AP wears off 13 times faster that feeling is only further solidified.

So you went from not wanting to grind it, to still not wanting to grind it? What exactly changed then?

I've seen most people say they are stopping at concordance rank 1,you'd need the extra 10 modifers to help u with further ranks down the road. like yourself this solidifies my decision not to go beyond rank 1 concordance,going to get it on all my weapons,then stop there,so pretty much any AP I get once my final weapon has concordance is going straight to the vendor

Nothing, which is why I said this change is pointless. It changes nothing meaningful. But it's still frustrating because it's just the devs telling people how they want players to play the game again.

Nothing changes. Reducing the cap from 50 to 40 is blizzard pretty much saying to us "We don't care about making fun and engaging content, we would much rather make boring endless grindfests instead.".

Legion started out so well but seems to be going downhill fast.

I agree.

Also I have concordance in main and off spec.

I was looking forward to AK 50 to push higher ranks of concordance but now it's going to just be grindy so I'm not going to worry about it (as in, not play as much as I thought I was going to since they've effectively made you put in 11x more work between AK 40 and 50).

I mean if that's the intended goal, good job blizzard but I'm not happy with it.

It killed alts. I'm not spending a month on each alt playing hours a day every day just to get concordance on their weapons. Which is what will happen. AK50 made it possible in about a week.

I uninstalled the game after logging on to say goodbye. I'm just done.

Their excuse is they don't want people feeling bad having wait another month for AK50 - Then, Gee, I DUNNO, Maybe you should make it so that you can instantly boost to 50 with Order Resources when you hit AK40? Which ALSO helps alts.

You should be able to get Concardance like in a day with AK40 lol.

No. That's not how it works at all, lol.

I still don't have it on Maizou on a single weapon and she's AK37.

If you chain run Mythics? Sure. But those are ALTS. Not mains. They don't chain mythics.

Then you're definitely not trying. This nerf just happened because most of the playerbase got Concardance too early from their expectation which they probably thought people would get it around AK50 or something but when they starts to get it at AK37 it just tells something

It would have made much more sense to normalize AP gains with a weekly cap after getting Concordance, and making every rank cost the same. If we could get, say, 1 rank per week we would be finishing our artifacts by the time the next expansion is about to come out. Higher ranks of AK would just help you reach that cap more quickly within that weekly timeframe and relieve you of some of the time spent grinding.

I do somewhere between 1-3 M+ a week. I do an emissary every day, and at most 3-5 WQs beyond what I need for an emissary if there are any that reward a large amount of AP. I kill a few mythic NH bosses and do a full clear of H NH a week. Nothing extreme. It's really very easy to casually get to Concordance at AK37.

It would be better concordance was fixed at 1/1 if AK is to cap at 40.

This debacle simply tells me how poorly designed artifacts are, combined with the AK research system. They just don't mix well.

The nerf just makes the situation worse for everyone. It actually hurts the casuals more than the hardcore players.

I am just glad I don't raid and having to collect 1 billion or whatever it is going to be to get a level doesn't really matter I guess ... I know I am currently at 237 million AP for a trait and it just jumped from 182 million ... so I can only imagine what it is going to be ... honestly don't know how many more traits I have to go until I reach the first lvl

I thought the formula made it impossible to cap out even at AK 50?

What's the point of capping at AK 40? It's probably not even a good idea because once people hit AK cap they're more likely to figure "oh well, done" and take more time off the game.

Hey, I'd rather they scrapped the entire AP mess entirely and give us challenges or other fun-content ways to empower our weapons, but this decision just doesn't make much sense within the context of the AP mess they designed.
