Give us the option to select Old A.V the way you gave it to retail players.
It’s absurd that retail gets an Old A.V option and players on classic are forced to play the retail version of A.V, stripped and gutted to a shell of its former glory as a PvP Raid.
Welcome to 1.12 AV.
This is literally Classic AV.
This isn’t the “Iconic” AV that people fondly remember.
But it -is- the Classic AV.
It’s “a” classic AV, but not “the” classic AV. It is a version that had the smallest duration throughout Vanilla.
I mean, it was working this way down throughout the entirety of Vanilla.
This is the end result of AV in Vanilla.
Would I prefer there to be a 40v40 1.5 AV? Yes.
Do I want veteran units, sky bombing raids and to summon the Frostlord to trample over the alliance? Yes. Would I like there to be a reason the little frostwolves are in the area to start up raider parties? Yes. Mines having a ponit? Yes please. Ect.
But to say this isn’t vanilla AV is just wrong.
Seems accurate to me. This version of the game is the least Vanilla version of Vanilla.
This is still the Vanilla version, for the version that blizzard revived.
Again, as I said above, I’d prefer the 1.5 version. I imagine that’d be alot more fun.

Exactly. The 1.12 version is barely Vanilla and not what anyone thinks of when they think of their Vanilla experience.
But it is Vanilla. So. 
I used to think that the old day long AV matches were just pointless and not fun at all. But after I played several iterations of AV over the years, I just came to the conclusion that AV is bad no matter what.
I still think that old AV is horrible, it’s the most boring BG iteration I ever played. Ironically the only good thing about it is that long games awards you terrible honor/hr.
If the honor farming meta shift towards AB/WSG you can rank while having fun, right now, that’s not the case.
Whole heatedly agree, this version of AV is trash. Going to never q again once i get exalted which at this rate could be today.

Sure it is. It may not be the one you wanted, but it is a Vanilla/Classic experience.
Also, it is better than 1.5.

I hope that Blizzard reads this statement. People are literally afking and autorunning into walls to farm honor and rep. Bring back the older version or nerf the ludicrous honor gains so that ranking takes at least some semblance of skill and we can at least play with our guildmates.
I play alliance with instant queues, I play with my guild mates all the time and unless you double or triple the honor gained from WSG, running AV premades is just way more efficient.
So you are going to sit on here and debate semantics instead of promoting the better versions. Whatever floats your boat tiny.
I already said that I’d prefer the 1.5 version, but this has been beat to death, semantics is the only thing left to talk about at this point.
Unless blizzard out of the decides to change things I don’t see it mattering.
The final result of when/how battlegrounds have been implemented was very poorly handled.
I’ll admit it’s made me so angry, at times, that I’m legitimately having difficulty articulating myself in a civil manner about this particular topic.
1 person versus 30 trying to defend the keep game after game after game because nobody has any interest in actually playing the battleground.
First of all, cross-server BG’s right off the bat feels like a huge mistake.
Second, the raid bosses are clearly under-tuned, relative to the gear curve – which is exactly what concerned me when MC/Ony were available at release and battlegrounds were not.
I am very, very, very frustrated.

It is too late. The damage was done. All the scared PvE Modern WoW lovers grinded rep with this horrible Modern WoW -ish version of AV. They plan to never play AV again. Meanwhile, those who wanted to enjoy 1.5 or 1.8 (even 1.10) AV will never reach full rep before Classic WoW phases complete. Those who loved PvP and the vanilla experience were punished here for caring. This game was not made for you or me. It was made for Modern WoW lovers bored before Shadowlands release.
