Third Faction

So, imagine they add a third faction. Under a purple banner. The Horde symbol but instead of the diamond in the center, it’s the alliance lion head.

  • When you go to create a character on this new faction you can choose from any race from either faction currently.

  • You can transfer existing characters over to it with a faction change.

  • You can speak to and understand characters from both factions in /say.

  • You can party and queue with players of both factions and do any content with them no restrictions.

  • You can access all cities of both factions.

  • You can choose which faction specific side quest-chains to follow but be awarded both faction rewards for chain completion

The downside:

You can’t queue for BG without choosing having multifaction chat limited to your own team placed as it is now on either horde or alliance side

You have to join both Horde and Alliance trade chats combined as one big mega trade chat.

It’s odd that after Legion we’re still pigeonholed into the factions, and even odder that they think we should be taking sides or caring about things like the BFA war or the recent accord in Silvermoon… like we’re pledged to and head of a neutral faction in character, let us make that choice.

In a way, we already have the third faction. We have Horde, Alliance, and Warmode off.

Cross faction is great, but you can be reminded there still a war going on. Just summon a horde friend to run the stockade and see what happens.

the BfA pre patch event or whatever it was, was really fun. Going into Darnassus and killing Night Elves. I’d like to at least kill the other faction sometime again in pve.

it is so limiting though, with each case of restrictions is very nuanced and niche.

I agree having a 3rd faction. Any race that wants join is welcome. Smaller faction are good to. For players who wants to get away from the Horde and the Alliance factions.

Nah. Make it a “reverse warmode” setting. Envoy mode, as it were.

I’ve said this for years. Let us take on the role of the subjective “bad guy”. A kind of ‘hardcore’ faction that is always hostile to both horde and alliance and has their own story line. A story that makes one think about what side is right and wrong. Unfortunately, Blizz will never do something like this. They aren’t capable.

Why do you start your very first sentence with “so”?

I can’t imagine they would, given that current factions get so little attention.

I don’t know the only thing that I would find fun about a third faction is a faction at war with both the horde and the Alliance.

Like let say a Scarlet Crusade/Red Dawn faction that want to destroy the forsaken to rebuild Lordaeron or for the horde a faction like the forsaken going rogue on everyone or like the Garosh horde.

Add a new faction and restructure the Alliance and Horde.

Alliance:

  • Humans (all kingdoms)
  • Dwarves (all clans)
  • Gnomes (Mecha too)
  • Pandaren
  • Earthen (Khaz Algar & Northrend)

Horde

  • Orcs (all clans)
  • Tauren (all tribes)
  • Trolls (all tribes)
  • Goblins
  • Vulpera

Elven Empire:

  • Night Elves
  • Thalassian Elves
  • Nightborne
  • Draenei (both)
  • Dracthyr
  • Haranir

I don’t actually expect this to ever happen, but who knows where this Worldsoul Saga will take us.

Sounds good. I’d join that.

You forgot the BEs and VEs. Sindorei and Rendorei.

I did not.

This includes Blood/Void/High Elves.

I thought thalassian elves were nightborn or NEs. I forgot what NEs are called.
