Thinking of jumping into Classic - which server?

Just looking to quest forever. No PVP. I have a level 18 somewhere out there but I don’t care about him.

Is there a server I should go to for casual leveling?

Whitemane is pvp but when leveling, there will only be a few times where you may actually pvp. Come join us

Pick a big pvp server and don’t look back. Dungeons and raids are easy to find. Formed a dungeon group myself last night in about 15 seconds then a guy opened a wormhole.

Faerlina for horde, Benediction for alliance.

“But I don’t want to pvp”

They aren’t really pvp servers.

I love PVP. But why PVP servers for each faction? Shouldn’t there be just one?

Whitemane for PvP server
Mankrik for PvE server
Bloodsail Buccaneers for Hardcore

There are clusters.
West Coast PvP cluster Whitemane/Thunderfury (and others) is the most populated.
East Coast PvP 1 Netherwind/Benediction (and others) has a small population but appears to be growing.
East Coast PvP 2 Earthfury/Herod (and others) is pretty dead, this is the cluster that I play on and I am often the ONLY person on, on both sides.

West Coast Whiteman Horde for PvP
East Coast Mankrik Alliance for PvE.

Seems like both of these are picking up as well. Mankrik horde appears to be growing in popularity.

I agree with the realms, but both fractions are perfectly viable on Whitemane and Mankrik.

To sum up classic goes as follows

Reach max lvl fast as possible
finish lvln chosen profession
level another or gank others trying to lvl

Ally mankrik cluster is the best pve cluster side. There are horde. I would guess 75/25.

I’m also just starting to play on the whitemane horde side which has been exciting to find, cause there seems to be more popularity on the ally side overall.

I saw a poster above also excited about a semi populated horde side.

So the Blizzard support article still shows the following connected realms for Classic Era:

Anathema, Arcanite Reaper, Bigglesworth, Blaumeux, Fairbanks, Kurinnaxx, Rattlegore, Smolderweb, Thunderfury, and Whitemane (PVP West)
Arugal, Felstriker, and Yojamba (OCE)
Ashkandi, Mankrik, Pagle, Westfall, and Windseeker (PVE East)
Atiesh, Azuresong, Myzrael, and Old Blanchy (PVE West)
Benediction, Faerlina, Heartseeker, Incendius, and Netherwind (PVP East)
Earthfury, Herod, Kirtonos, Kromcrush, Skeram, Stalagg, Sulfuras, and Thalnos (PVP East)

Of those, I can speak to my personal experience on the Mankrik cluster (Ashkandi, Mankrik, Pagle, Westfall and Windseeker). It is PVE East (but the data center is in Chicago) and all those servers are connected with the same benefits as connected realms in retail (can join guild on any server, same AH, etc). Roll up a character on any of them and you’re playing with folk from all of them. I can only speak for Horde activity and it has really started popping lately. Seeing a whole lot of new faces there which is super encouraging.

The RP PVE server Bloodsail Buccaneers (East) is not on the list as it is not connected to any other realm. Neither is Grobbulus, the RP PVP server (West). If you are interested in playing the hardcore/Ironman style challenge, Bloodsail would be your choice for that. I don’t see Jarl posting here so I will direct you to his post promoting Grobbulus. It is enticing to me but I pretty much roll Horde all day erry day. But I’ll give it to Jarl - he’s selling it and I do have a soft spot for the stunties.
