So I was pondering on the A Song of the Depths lore book, and some things stood out to me going forward.
As one storm recedes, another rises. The torches have been lit. The secrets he buried will strike as a dagger into the hearts of his kin!
The first line obviously references Raszageth and her end. The second likely the Oathstones, which almost literally are torches. the third line, though… Iridikron almost word for word said the same thing in the 10.1 intro cinematic. Is he the harbinger of the Void? Not the Old Gods, the Cosmic Void.
The Harbinger speaks of a primal power that seeks the end of Order. Such rage can be bent to serve our ends.
If Iridikron is the Harbinger of the Void, this would fit him well. He no longer cares about the philosophical underpinnings of the conflict, he just wants to win. He sees the primalist movement and likely even the other Incarnates as tools, a means to fulfill his end of whatever dark bargains he made with the Void Lords.
A hunger lost to the ages will be reclaimed.
Likely references Galakrond. Perhaps he means to revive the Father of Dragons as a weapon of the Void?
A dark heart left broken awaits the taking.
Harder to say, sort of seems like it could be referencing Azeroth? Or, it could actually reference the Heart of Azeroth itself, which may of gone dormant but still has a direct tie to Azeroth’s power. We do have a track record of not keeping track of important relics and letting bad people steal them after we don’t need them.
When these things come to pass, the Harbinger will fulfill the final prophecy and complete the awakening.
I seriously doubt they would awaken Azeroth, as that seems like total end game. So, with that in mind, the Awakening of who? If it is not a literal awakening, it could mean Irikikron will fulfill his bargain when he sees this prophecy fulfilled and ascend into a Void form rivaling an Old God in power.
