Think we'll get to be those Big Dragonoid things as an Allied Race?

It would be nice.

very nice.

Man, is it too late to tell the Pandaren thanks-but-no-thanks and recruit the Mogu? We’ve got their old Zandalari cronies and everything. The gang’s all here!

Is this what you’re referring to?

“When it comes to expanding [the Dracthyr] to other things I think that’s a future conversation that we’ll have about what opportunities make sense, and even opportunities for allied races, too,”

A “future conversation about opportunities that make sense” isn’t worth a tinker’s dam. They’re just saying that they won’t rule anything out.

Ah! That’s why the Humans and Orcs are involved, we’re in a conflict to conquer the Forbidden Reach.

That was true during BfA. Poor Garona.

Why not? I mean, look at what we got. They pretty much don’t get Mogs and the game already lets gear clipping happen.

I literally said they’re possibly thinking about it. lol

This line right here:

that’s a future conversation that we’ll have about what opportunities make sense, and even opportunities for allied races, too

And this is why, if we want it, we need to be vocal:

We take a look at some of the fan-favourite things, listen to what the requests are, have internal conversations because everyone on the team is always requesting stuff like this too, and we make decisions based on what’s in the best interest of the community.

No Idea. Although, just a day or two ago I was thinking; WoW has really expanded their number of races. Fairly, somewhat, kinda diverse as well. Kinda. I thought it would be neat if each side were to get a race to join them that was really large. Like, a foot or so taller than the Ztrolls, and thicker/bigger than Tauren. Something that really stands up out of the crowd. Maybe something with multiple different tank abilities.

Just think it would be neat to see a towering mass coming at you in PvP or behind you running into the fray, what ever it may be.

Again, not worth a tinker’s dam. I’m possibly thinking about a lot of things right this very moment!

The dracthyr look pretty weak and glued to one class but that tiny head is just off-putting to me for some reason this is what we got they’ll never change it so best to move on. it’s my hope we at least get tuskarr because i like them so much.

If so, it should be in addition to Dracthyr class selection expansions, not in place of.

I don’t mind Drakonid characters as well as expanded Dracthyr classes, but not at the expense of keeping Dracthyr a 1-class race.

And again:

As much as I’ve wanted drakonids for way too long, I’d be worried that the addition of dracthyr killed them off. Unfortunately, I just don’t think them doubling down with a second reptilian race may be seen as worth the time and money. Look at how the dracthyr had their customization effort split on visages. :frowning:

They’re not opening Dracthyr to other classes. It was a resounding no in interviews.

They’re thinking about the possibility. So I’ve been encouraging people to keep pushing for it. Its a way to have more classes by having Drakonid.

Phenomenally stupid if true, and frankly a terrible precedent, because now it lays a possible foundation for Blizzard to continue to be lazy with future races.

Why design a race beyond a single class anymore if it’s acceptable to put out hyper-specialized single-note garbage like this?

Last I remember, they were already walking that back by suggesting dracthyr may only remain evoker-only for now in order to help solidify the class concept for players,. We’ve already seen dracthyr warriors and rogues going around, the evoker starting zone showing that the class is actually somewhat rare among them, as well as an entire academy littered with them studying traditional magic.

I think it’s better because maybe we’ll finally get Drakonid.

As what? Strictly Warriors? Another one-trick pony?

EDIT: To my knowledge, we’ve never seen a Drakonid without a polearm (but then I don’t really pay attention to NPCs and storylines in this game), so it’s very likely yeah, they’d be stuck entirely as Warriors.

An interview a month ago said:

Evoker, will we see a warrior version enter the MMORPG? The answer is a pretty resounding no. One thing we wanted to do right out of the gate was make the [Dracthyr’s] race and class be very dependent on each other,

It’s why they’re thinking about possibly Drakonid for AR.

But nothing is set in stone. Everything can change. I don’t expect any of this to hold water. It’s just the most current information for right now.

If it were up to me, I’d love to ignore the existence of Dracthyr, let others enjoy them and their class, while I have my Drakonid.

Then you haven’t been paying attention. To anything.

I would love if Dracthyr were given more bodytypes. I do like drakonids. It would be nice to play those. Especially if we get more classes.
