Think the 5 new servers will be dead in a few weeks?

I can’t decide on playing on a big server and dealing with long queues to get a guaranteed healthy server, or on a newer server like Kromkrush where there’s short queues but questionable long-term population health.

I think there will be 2 separate mass exodus’s from Classic:

1- when all of the “tourists” leave (not being derogatory or condescending, but no other word to use here). All the players who were not around 15 years ago that want to see what all the hype is about. All the players who are bored with retail and thought classic would be worth a try, and then became bored/frustrated with it. All the players who are nothing more than trolls, creating toons just to flood the starting areas and overload servers/queues.

And

2- when all/most of the streamers leave and take their adoring throng of lemmings along with them.

I think both of these groups leaving will happen within the first 2-3 months and then we’ll see what server populations will really be like.

yes

but at least they didn’t have to wait 8 hours in queue, right?

even though their servers will be dead in a couple months when a ton of people quit ):

I would be highly surprised if there weren’t free server transfers in the offing sometime in the near future to balance things out once the population approaches its normal level. If you sit around thinking Blizzard will just simply have dead servers, you aren’t paying attention.

Simply play on something. It’ll work itself out.

And if you have two brain cells to rub together you do not want to be on a high traffic PVP server in a week or two and not be high level. The toxicity from the griefing will be amaze-balls. That’s how WoW works. If you aren’t high-level quick on a PVP server, it’s a mess to level because people have nothing more fun to do then bring their max level chars to come camp you.

EVERYTHING IS DEAD GUYS ITS NOT LIKE ITS 10 AM IN EST and so and so. All DEAD CLASSIC DREAM IS DEAD. Go back to complaining about you think you man.

Uhm most adults work during business hours?

Kromcrush had a few hour queue last night with 8k people in line at least. I think dead is an overused term. Will they be dead compared to today’s population? Yes. But once layering is removed they will still feel very much alive with just a few thousand people

they are not aware that people work and sleep

genuinely i think the third oceanic realm is a step too far. Two oceanic pvp servers is essential, but once the hype dies down arugal will stake its claim as THE Pvp server whilst yojimbo will find its place. The third realm is unnecessary. Even two hours before its release (6.45 and post peak oceanic times) we had a twenty minute queue on yojimbo. Maybe some folks will be tempted, but most will just wait it out until the weekend. I genuinely worry for the people who rolled that server. Queues aint THAT bad. Still its a third option when the invariable transfers happen. Might be nice if arugal gets a bit horde dominated before phase 2.

I never mentioned anything about queuing right now. I’m aware the populations are low because people work, I myself am at work right now.

I asked if people think the newest servers will die down in population in a few weeks.

I think they’ll be fine, based on the fact that a low/medium pop is actually equal or greater than what a full was in the original launch.

Also they already said the would consider realm transfers and since they been pushing everyone to go to the new servers, if those do die down, they will allow transfers

People really need to understand that you only need 2,000-3,000 active people for a very bustling and healthy server. Servers are probably sporting anywhere from 20k-100k right now. My concern is less about the long term population being too small and wondering at what point prior to Phase 2 will they be offering new servers and free transfers.

5 new servers dead? Well then ill happily claim the scarab lord title in of those lol, easy titles

I’m on the new Rp PvP realm and I’m concerned

eh, if they are ‘dead’, and I doubt they will, as all you need are a couple thousand players for the realm to feel like it is full, then after two weeks, depending on how much you play, you will not be THAT far into the game and you can always reroll.

Sucky solution, but better than sitting in queues for days on end and not getting to play at all.

I’m not concerned. Wait until tonight when every server has a queue again. Worst case scenario they will open server transfers…not that big of a deal. Some of my friends waited in 7-8 hour queue’s yesterday for the popular servers…I just don’t have time for that

Right now, Herod has a 6k queue and Whitemane a 4k queue. I don’t thikn that’s dead. Now, yes, the new servers and the RP server probably have zero or near zero queue…

yes

no one has time for that. max wait time should be 30mins
