Think of the Critters

Worst quest ever, or worst quest ever?

I don’t know what was going through the mind of the person who designed this, and who approved this quest. The ability for other players to run by mounted near your critter scaring it away is by far, the single most thoughtless thing I have ever seen in this game.

I was just going to post this. When you finally get the critter to take the food a bird comes down you have to kill. 9/10 after killing the bird it dies on the critter. Hard to re-target it to finish feeding it. This feels like the quest developer is trolling us.

Yeah that was really annoying. They just kept wandering off and disappearing on me. Took forever to complete.

There’s also the fact that the treat takes up an inventory space when when pretty much every other quest item now days goes to a hidden inventory bag. That along with the fact that the treat remains in your bag once you turn in the quest makes me suspect that this quest wasn’t given much effort.

This quest is impossible to complete. If you get 2 razorwings attacking, the critter runs away by the time you’ve killed the second one. Or if someone else runs by on a mount it runs away, or even if you just try to feed it sometimes the extra action button goes away and the critter despawns. Most other quests like this would just have you hit it once with the targeting circle and that’s it. I get that they want to make it move involved, but as is the quest is impossible to complete…

I do Korthia everyday. (b/c sockets are locked behind it) I’ve never seen this quest till now. Are we beta testing it?

Here’s something blizzard doesn’t understand. If it ain’t broken don’t fix it! Questing was fine and perfect, so stop trying to make repeatable quests interactive. Everyone hates it every time they do this because we have to suffer every time this daily or another like it pops up, not fun at all and all around sucks. I don’t know how a quest designer this bad gets hired at Blizzard.

I just googled it, then came here. Worst quest ever. I’ve given up on it for now. Not even able to catch one.

What a legacy Bliz is leaving: Lawsuits and garbage quests. This isnt the first and only lame quest this expansion.

Who ever at Blizz that made this quest needs to rethink their career choices, this is complete trash.

If someone tosses food on them after you have gone 3/4s of the way of saving the critter and their timer expires the critter vanishes…

TRASH

Random Memory Access, no longer trash, this one takes the throne was everyone’s consensus this morning lol

Let me try to report the different issues I’ve had happen with this question, in an attempt to make fixing/improving it easier and faster:

  • Sometimes the critter runs away before I even get in range to throw a treat at it (I think that tends to happen when there is a change in elevation, e.g. I am on a small rock or hill, and the critter is below me; or when I approach too quickly)
  • Very frequently, after I throw a treat, a Scavenging Razorwing will swoop down, and a) I won’t be able to continue feeding the critter, and b) the critter would lose interest by the time I finish fighting the Razorwing
  • Sometimes the critter will lose interest pretty much immediately, before I can even approach it (or as soon as a Razorwing spawns)

I actually don’t mind the interactivity of the quest, but it’s far too unforgiving right now. I must’ve attempted to feed ~30 critters, and my quest progress is only at 4.

I think a scripted behavior of the razorwing, like it only swoops down when you’ve completed a bar, might help. Or you should just automatically get credit if you kill a razorwing, and have it group-tapped so others can’t just tag your razorwing. Having the critters run off partially fed is maybe not so terrible, but it’s annoying.

This was only doable because I kept running through the area to different quests and rares. If I had to do it, specifically, there’s a good chance I would have given up.

i agree this new quest is pure crap cannot retarget critter after a kill to feed - this is the kind of crap that made me quit wow in the first place poor programming

This is next level hatred for players. Was this designed by someone who has never played wow?

This quest is awful. In addition to the other complaints above, if the critter is chilling out beneath the piles of razowing corpses it can be very hard to target before it loses interest. The only reason I’d bother completing this quest is for transmog, and I’d be super salty the entire time.

Honestly, have someone take a look at the completion numbers for this one.

literally came here to say exactly the same thing, whoever designed this quest either did not care about their job, or they are bad at it.

This quest is bad, and whoever designed it should feel bad, They did a horrible job. i could explain my reasons, but i think enough posts do that already, just wanted to add my voice so Blizzard knows how much it sucks.

Sucks ballz.

  1. generally annoying design - chase critters that jump away at random intervals.
  2. watch other players disturb your efforts lol.
  3. seems bugged - like sometimes there’s no one near them, I barely get close enough to throw a treat and - they run away already.
