What things do you dislike about MMOs? Mine would probably be traveling especially in maze-like zones and without flying, and not being able to play my own way to achieve certain goals.
There are other people in them
That would be the second “M”.
Lack of fleshed out PvP, and a near community-wide consensus that MMO’s should strictly be for PvE, and PvP features suffering due to PvE people not wanting to be inconvenienced in any single small way.
Basically, I don’t like whiny people.
The fact the developers inevitably become lazy and reduce the quality. The psychological manipulation element to the grind is also terrible.
I’d prefer if WoW was a MO lol
I second other people. I need a single player game that constantly updates and allows me to satisfy my collecting things addiction. Other games I’m done when I get all the trophies. In wow I’m never done, which is why I like it, but yeah, the people…
In regards to specifically MMORPGs it is that they tend to forget about the role playing part.
rubberbanding and other network hiccups due to crapola ISP politics
Being told how I should enjoy the game. Gradually being forced into a particular play style.
The people.
any mob that has alot of health and auto attack damage but no abilities, so no matter how “attentive” you are there is nothing much you can do against them solo.
I wouldn’t be against the developers having to have weekly table top RPG gatherings because you’re right, there’s not a lot of RPG flavor going on.
Ignorance about alts even the game is 15 years old.
Restrict fly with non-sense reason to cover up inability to provide engaging contents.
All sorts of inconvenience and hassle, if the game is fun and engaging, who would even care about adding so much annoyances just to enhance internal referencing metrics?
I think devs could really benefit from playing a game like Trails of Cold Steel or Persona. Trails especially, it showed me some serious world building and what it means in an RPG to not simply exist as a character but actually be convinced that the character lives in that world.
I can’t play multiple characters. Astellia while new and has an interesting pet system, but still not what I want. Multiboxing isn’t what I want. Games like Final Fantasy XII or Dragon Age series where your allies are AI controlled with some custom scripting overriding priority depending on certain conditions.
I dislike how they are all made to be single player games about grinding rather than multiplayer games about challenging game play.
Microtransactions, any of 'em. If the game is free, fine. If the game is not free, get the heck out of here with that crap. (This applies to all games, not just MMO’s)
(This applies to all games, not just MMO’s)
Micro transactions and no I don’t mean the store mounts. I’m talking about paying money so I can have a bigger bank space or the ability to turn my hat “off.” Pay-to-win bundles too. I won’t play an MMO with any of that crap.
I was going to say this but didn’t want to look like a jerk. Thanks for taking one for the anti social team.
