So you don’t think the Classic community is better than Currents community?
So glad I am not part of that group…
Because its convenient for his argument. People just willy nilly the classic “Community” in whichever way they want.
One minute its a great community of people passing out drive by buffs, rezzing the dead and joining your group to help you summon your mates. The next moment we are all cut throat brigands with no home training or social skills with a conveniently large and petty guild full of people willing to mass click report whoever we decide upon this day in order to mute some guy trying to sell Savory Deviates in Ironforge.
Community does not mean that people are not going to take advantage of any possible thing they can.
If you give the power of a nuclear weapon to the worst possible people… Do you not feel that they would abuse it?
Jealous. ten characters
No, especially not when you phrase it like that.
The game is worse. So, the worst I can say about retail’s player base is that they enjoy a game I find distasteful.
Lets be fair here tho… I have met Millenials who are not trash, it’s just that so many of them do not want to own up to being horrible…
It’s like they don’t want to be responsible at all for anything, ever.
I have met a few tho like I said that would fit in very nice in the older generation, so there is hope.
Please shut the hell up about millennials before the thread gets locked. This has nothing to do with the already salty, spicy topic.
If it is abused and if it is punished with rhe ban hammer falling it won’t be abused much after word gets around about that. Whole guilds or groups of players getting month bans will stop this alleged abuse very quickly. Before it really starts.
nothing to do with incentive, has everything to do with the community, what is being fear mongered is that there will be some wide spread abuse that has never happened in WoW.
The DC also does not happen all the time either, and instant gratification? there is none of that now, not sure why you would include that, lol.
If the community is better as claimed, than any abuse would be less or the same as it is now.
Right click reporting stole my bike.
True story.
ahh i get it lol
i almost didn’t detect the /s
relevant and spicy satire
heh. i think it will get abused.
i will be suprised if it doesnt though.
phrase it like what? Asking a simple question? Do you think the CLassic community is better than Current WoWs.
Sure it does, and I am talking about the fear mongering that any abuse would be massive, which shouldn’t happen if the community is supposed to better than it is now.
If they want to appear that they are acting in good faith, Blizzard first has to.prove that the guild abused the system and were not simply submitting reports in good faith.
All it would take for that guild to disguise their abuse would be to report for “spam”. “Spam”, after all, is very subjective. Some people have even stated that posting the same, or similar, advertisement more than once in a 5 minute time span is spam and they will report it as such.
We’ve already got at least one person that practically admits that he plans to collude with friends to squelch players he knows are not committing a violation while hiding behind “IMO, they were spamming”.

They are two different systems, you cannot compare BFA and its Systems to Vanilla and its Systems.
One system does not merely fit well with the other, because they are designed from the ground up to play differently… (Not talking about features but the content here).
Point is when you have valuable content that people are competing for there is incentive to gain the upper hand…
People will take whatever leverage they can get. More than that there are the super sensitive that report everything. Unfortunately that number has grown a lot in the last 10 years to a staggering number of very overly sensitive types who are aggravated by anything.
Its that desire by modern society to want instant gratification that simply does not fit into the Vanilla game.
We cannot accept or tolerate instant gratification player imposed punishment in Classic WoW. Doing so disrupts the balance of the game and its ecosystem.
You feel this is fearmongering; nay friend, this is not fear mongering, this is just the way it is.
Did anyone in this thread tell you vanilla’s community was better than retail in some way that would lead to less abuse? Where did that come from?
If anything, they were saltier, and more cut-throat. The game made them that way, just like retail shapes the players of today.
I’m going to hazard a guess that you didn’t play vanilla, and you have no idea how a persistent community changes people - particularly, how they misbehave.
I did play vanilla, though I started June 2006. This gal shows up on warcraftrealms in September, if I remember right.
People misbehave everywhere. I mean, seriously, drive to work and you deal with lawbreakers almost constantly: speeders, rolling through stop signs, parking in fire lanes.
I know different people have different experiences. Mine was definitely not what you describe. As I mained on an a lower population, more recently added, RP realm, I found a community who had their AQ drama and the like, but never to the point of mental and cut-throat.
At most we had multiple people spamming trade with the same crafting profession trying to be the one seen, and back then it was sometimes necessary to report spam via a ticket when someone was hitting a macro over and over to the point no one else could say anything.
I will wait and see, yes, but I will also continue to support Right-Click Report. Why? Because I think the only two problems are (1) the length of time between a squelch and a GM review, and (2) the lack of an obvious penalty for abusive false reporting. Those problems aren’t solved by removing RCR. They’re resolved by Blizzard further improving their GM systems to handle abusive behaviors.

You’re gonna need a bigger hammer, unfortunately that results in a click to report.

with this I sure can, and currently it is the exact same system.

Lol what instant gratification?

and the number of people who think they can say whatever they like whenever they like with no tact or personal responsiblity.

Yes , but if the community is so much better than it is now, any abuse should be less or the same.
You feel this is fearmongering; nay friend, this is not fear mongering, this is just the way it is.
well yes, trying to spread that this would be massively abused over what is has been since BC i guess is.
