In case its helpful or at least interesting to see both encounters and how the scaling and removal of borrowed power systems impacts the level of difficulty. I was a bit messy TBH though, burnt myself out for 5 hours stubbornly trying in full haste/vers PvP gear because I didn’t have a fury PvE set, barely played S2 in SL so by the last few attempts after finally I decided to actually get some gear heavier on haste and replace just about all of the verts with mastery from boe + misc sources, then it took 3 attempts, but I was super fried and there’s clearly mistakes. I think there is value in visualizing rebounding from mistakes is doable, if I can, so can you (if you’re struggling) given that I main Arms, and play Prot as needed, and haven’t really played Fury much except for variety in Torg sometimes ever since Wild Strike got removedin WoD, so yeah… Definitely not as Fury main, nevermind playing it without leggos or covenant abilities. Playing fury without Signet feels so odd… Anyhow I plan do do the Arms / Prot ones as well, just happened to beat this one first, been splitting up my time between all 3 of them and just happened to finish this one first.
Good luck all!
What was the date on the Legion video? Was it during the initial 7.2 release of the tower?
He looks like he’s in full Antorus gear for the Legion kill.
Also this tells me the best strategy for mage tower is just to cheese it with socketed timewalking gear. You let the boss get healed by the imps several times, I swear you got hit by boulders like 5 times, aren’t they supposed to 1-shot you? Was it nerfed?
It was later in legion it was my 3rd war alt, the first time I did it was hard right when it came out, by that time it felt like a joke. I was full elite ilvl pvp gear minus legendaries, I believe 915ilvl. The only pve I did In legion was to get the trinket every war seemed to use from nighthold, which I never got on any of my 3 wars. I put videos up on my main war of the prot/arms challenges in pvp gear since the common consensus was tier gea4 and draugjt of souls or bust, the fury one I didn’t record until later idr why, maybe because I main arms and prot is off spec, I don’t really play fury since I pvp 90% and pve 10% for variety I don’t have pve friends or a reason to play it since it’s not good for arena
Yeah I got hit by a lot of boulders, I was running on no sleep and didn’t have the timing or muscle memory down for rhe boulsers since I killed it on 3rd attempt after getting mastery gear so the 5-6 hours of wipes were before 50% when I was in vers gear from getting overwhelmed by imps
The boulders never 1 shot, they just hurt all and you typically die in the stun from other dmg sources. It got real sloppy at the end I got a bit nervous by I was so frustrated by that point and I was too stubborn to quit and do it another day so I refused to stop until I beat it and I just wanted to be done and not wipe on 2% like the attempt before it haha
Here’s the videos I mentioned:
Prot:
I was able to get the set with the Agatha fight. Double crusader was very nice
I did use dancing steel at one point just out of curiosity to see how that scaled since an old alt of mine still had heirloom weapons with the enchant. I was kind of surprised that it scaled so low compared to crusader.
crusader is busted, even for havoc it works A LOT better than x2 siphoning for stage 1 of xylem, also negates the need to run demonic appetite even with the wasted str from the proc it just seems to be the best enchant for self sustain, so for str classes just nuts… i was afk for the first 2 weeks of mage tower so i didn’t see how crusader was pre-nerf, but post nerf it’s extremely effective, so i can only imagine
