They were doing better with alts, until these two things

So worth the renown boost for alts, a lot of gear being BoA in DF… and then heading towards this account wide rep thjng they have in War within I have to ask who through these were good ideas?

A permanent augment rune that costs 100k per toon (this I didn’t really care much about myself)

A hesd glyph that requires all of your toons to gather 50 items from raid, even your alts who may only do M+

This has been a thing since Legion?

It’s a reward for playing through the raid to give you a cosmetic appearance for that character for being a raider.

I’m confused as to why this is such an issue.

The head glyph from the raid isn’t cosmetic, it has abilities for each role/spec that increase their dps and performance

Then that even reinforces my point: why should you get a raid enchant on every character when your characters don’t raid?

That’s like asking for your tier gear or the legendary to be account wide.

You play the alts at a high enough level for the augment rune to make a difference?

Well this explains why you have to get it for every character. Blizzard has said repeatedly that playing multiple alts shouldn’t be a path to character power.

Ok let me ask, do you buy pets on your alts? Or why exactly does renown even need to be account wide?

No, I buy them on this guy

Plus pets have nothing to do with augment runes

Ok so let me simplify the question, why do you or if not you a large majority of the playerbase want renown to be account wide?

Aside from the obvious lack of supporting data for this, people generally choose the path of least resistance. But if renown/rep actually gets a full account wide treatment, everything from it should only be cosmetics. No gear, no recipes.

No they havent

How many times are you going to move the goalpost?

That’s funny coming from someone’s who original goalpost is wrong. You asked if I do the content that the helm matters, no, but that isn’t Blizzard’s stance.

People can’t do open world solo content and get the same gear as m+8 whether they “need it,” or not. Don’t let the door hit you on your way out of the thread.

No I didn’t

The biggest issue with the head enchant is that it is very clearly meant for AoE, which is not something raiders generally value really high. It’s a real weird decision to make something that disproportionately benefits M+ players a raid exclusive item. That said, I do both, so I’ll get mine eventually.

Buying an Augment Rune is a complete waste of money for 99% of alts. The helm enchant has a catch up method, so you’ll eventually be able to get it in a LFR clear or two. Not particularly onerous.

If you’re truly desperate, just farm to 20 on your main and then do the questline on your alts and you’ll be 99% of the way there with the 200% rep bonus.

Nah, it’s both.

The range one splits (and increases damage) based on how many targets it hits and the melee one switches between ST and AoE based on how many targets are nearby.
