Gallywix’s death in the raid was anticlimactic and unsatisfactory. Considering he personifies the sin of greed, Blizzard could have put some flair into his demise by having him fall into a vat of molten gold or have a stream of molten gold fall on top of him. We already tore down his giant statue in front of the casino, so instead put the gold encased Gallywix there both as a symbolic trophy of his defeat and as a warning to the other goblins against too much power hunger and greed. It would be deliciously karmic, but I don’t think Blizzard has the nerve to do something that gruesome.
He was essentially crushed by his own hubris.
What is this obsession people have around here with trying to equate stuff in Undermine with GoT?
This is mafia/mob stuff. Not GoT.
Also: TL4 is right.
Ha! I’m framing this and showing it to anyone who ever argues with me on this forum again!
They could have at least added a nice “squish” sound and had blood pooling from underneath the mech. Or had Gallywix stumble out, crushed but not dead, swearing at the adventurers, only for your character to just push him into the hole in the center of the room.
Also frame the ones where I say I’m wrong so that people stop attacking me with, “You always think you’re right and always have to be right.”
We should use valkyr to undeaden Gallywix so forsaken can have a proper leader.
Milquetoast gown lady has got to go.
I don’t mind how he died but I thought it was weird that Gazlowe went “look out!” before he got crushed.
It was weird that Gazlowe was still trying to help him out after everything, lol.
If you ever played a goblin, you see how much the mech falling on him is perfect. This happened to him once already, against the player character goblin but last time he got stuck inside his mech.
But is he really dead?
To be fair, he was crushed by a giant mech in his image, I really can’t think of a more karmic way to go than crushed by your own butt.
Being turned into a gold statue is too flattering. Gallywix is the kinda of villain you really love to hate, he’s not redeemable, he’s too vain to look past his own huge ego, and any fanfare would just feed into his lasting legacy of vainglorious vanity.
There’s nothing more cosmically karmic to such a person than being shoved off their high horse and then subsequently forgotten.
A fitting end for Gallywix would have been if he was turned into a tree by dryads and forced to endure the same pollution he clogged the planet with.
I find the two very similar. Just different costumes.
Someone wants something. But so does this other person. How does it get solved? One of them gets killed by the other.
Which did I describe? The “modern” mafia, or GoT?
GoT is The Godfather with swords and a lot of nudity.
That would have been amazing!
In before he’s not dead, undermine was only a setback, void Gally boss fight.
I think so but also it kinda doesn’t matter. The important thing is that he was removed from a position of power. He could still be alive but it doesn’t matter too much at this point. I’d be happy either way.
Not all deaths need to be grandioso or spectacular. Sometimes, a villain of such caliber, like Gallywix is, who are often boastful, bragging and arrogant deserves to get humbled and die in the most humiliating manner there is. Boring and forgettable.
Translation. His ego and pride was his own undoing.
Gazlowe was tired of all the death and killings, he believed he could sway and change Gallywix’s mind. As well, Gazlowe’s remorse when walking away was more in the lines of not having the chance to attempt to make an attempt to sway him, but understood no real need to grieve over Gallywix either. As seen when he kicks the chair away at the Cartel Negotiating Table.
