If only because most of the high res weapon mogs from BfA look yikes and we lost tons of mogs from Legion. More mogs to get == better game.
Removing value from mogs = worse game. When things are too easily achievable, nobody tries. Give out the highest res weapons that you prefer, what motivates you to get the next weapon skin?

No they should not. They should add in a new challenge with new
items to earn. Maybe even make it solo, two, or three player
challenge. Each with their own items to collect.

Because being restricted from certain things is good.
I occasionally see warriors running around with the elite primal gladiator set. Those spikey shoulders are completely awesome, yet I didn’t try to get them at the time. Sucks for sure.
The plus side? I am doing 2s right now with a friend, motivated to achieve that for the first time. I may not get that specific set, but I’ll try to earn the current elite. And if I accomplish it, having a limited time item will feel good. Like a legitimate reward. Same deal here.

I’m pretty sure Blizzard didn’t delete them from the servers. If there is demand, Blizzard can deliver. And there seems to be quite a lot of demand.

I mean I gave up unhealthy foods a few years ago, I’ve been a lot happier on a Mediterranean diet lol. I feel better in all regards.
Anyway, everyone has their own thing to motivate them. Maybe this doesn’t apply to you. And in time, I’d be cool with them opening them up again. Even if they made a new challenge, open the old ones up to an extent.
My first mmo was FFXI…wearing terrible looking subligar and other noob pieces for so long. Finally to earn some nice pieces in the 50s. I played that game for years, motivated as can be, never even reaching endgame. This was what motivated me…everyone is different though. Perhaps a different generation of gaming, though the formula still makes sense to me.
(just fyi, as 3 different versions of this thread popped up at once, I gave you each a different type of answer. But let’s be real, moving forward to new weapons would be a lot more fun. If they were to give the option to unlock the old in a logical way that involves a true challenge, I’d be open to that as well).
Well to do the challenge again a few things would need to happen.
-Perfect Scaling compared to ToS ilvl so it’s hard
-Legendary items being reverted to pre need/buffed states
-Having your artifact weapon again
-Having the same talent choices as Legion
-Class changes reversed
Probably a few more, but those would need looked at.
I want WoD or MoP challenge armors I didn’t get, but doing them now will be vastly different than what they were tuned for. If you can develop a way to get even a 90% similar experience I am all ears, so long as it applies to all challenge modes and not just the one you want.

I do like the current cloth elite PVP set though. And a few of the horde sets and weapons from past seasons.
