They Removed Our Self Healing?

So BM gets hit with a nerf and along with that Blizzard has taken away the ability to heal ourselves with mend pet / leech.

I have to say that this is a HORRIBLE change. Hunter has always felt squishy and being able to constantly passively heal with mend pet / leech was a great way to stay in a fight.

I really don’t understand changes like this. It was never considered OP and all it does is take away from the Hunter players. This change needs to be reverted ASAP.

For me the most offensive thing about the change is that the reason Mend Pet healed the Hunter was due to the basic fact of how Leech works as a stat. To make this change they would have had to go out of their way to write a specific implementation that blocks Leech from working normally in this particular instance. They saw it as so important they actually took dev time away from fixing things like the absurd Quick Shot transmog bug to “address” this in particular.

Yup of all the things to focus on when we have so many issues that do need addressing and NO ONE ASKED for this to be fixed. :stuck_out_tongue:

it gets worse when you see that literally every other dps spec aside from maybe mages have more healing than hunters.

Was in a rando BG last night with this toon for the first time since DF prepatch. Nothing aginst warlocks but holy hell they can PUMP dps and just sit there soaking up alllllll dmg and healing themselves with zero problems. Just odd to me that some classes like locks and others have all kinds of self healing and ours which was weak to begin with was removed.

It’s really not that serious. You have access to a 40% wall now along with a 20% max health increase (iirc) via your tenacity pet. Them wanting to fix something that was not working as they intended it to work is fine. Now if you said, hey where’s my hunters mark DR or something of the sort, then you’d have a valid point.

Yeah I have seen that aswell. Its just weird to me because not that long ago if you were in a dps role you needed a healer to stay alive. Just like you needed a tank to stay alive to soak up all the boss or mob dps. And now well, some classes you are your own healer that basically keep up with your healer and you can pump the dps. Imo blizz needs to get the classes as a whole back into balance.

It wouldn’t feel so bad if so many rare/elites in the world didn’t do periodic wide-area damage that was unavoidable or close enough to it. You see it a lot in solo instanced content like campaign scenarios, too. Paired with the fact that unless you specifically spec into, Exhilaration is only like, what 15% heal per minute if you cast it on cooldown? I feel like I die or come close to dying much, much more than I used to (of course I do) but I’m playing a class that was always supposed to be DPS class with the healthy dose of survivability. It doesn’t matter if my pet is tanking when things are exploding all around me chipping off my health and there is literally nothing I can do about it.

It would be one thing if the other DPS classes had the same issue, but we are in very rare company right now and it doesn’t make sense for us, of all classes, to struggle with staying alive.

second this.
BLIZZARD PLEASE REVERT THIS CHANGE ASAP TO SAVE HUNTER FANS.

You can literally apply this to rated instances (arena, rated BGs) and dungeons. Please don’t destroy our dream of being coasting with our pets open world.

Now I can even heal my self in Zereth Mortis

This is a pretty annoying change PvP wise too. Not too impactful for arena but dueling and WPvP, this is a stupid change. They did it going into SL by nerfing spirit mend while simultaneously buffing hybrid heals through the roof.

Who thought hunters were genuinely healing too much via mend pet leech? Especially compared to the crazy healing hybrids have been putting out for the entirety of SL.

I just wish they would explain why they make these huge changes seemingly out of nowhere.

I mean, for all we know there’s a good reason behind this change but with no explanation we’re all just sitting here confused and mad about it (see also, pet specs.)

Meanwhile Demon Hunters who have arguably more mobility then hunters, can keep themselves alive much better with less effort. They can CC with less effort. Kite with less effort. All while doing double the damage and quadruple the healing of a Hunter.

But yeah take away our baby leech heal because you decided that making Mend Pet talents was a good idea.

All of them lol

Not to mention that since our pets do 50% of our damage, our 15% leech is actually 7.5 While every other class gets full leech.
