Casters without the staff can’t really compete sadly, so these feel like wasted weeks not seeing it drop

It is, I was more comparing it to the swords, which the OP tried to downplay. 7sp and 12 int is a big upgrade, but so is the difference between a 24dps sword and a 31dps sword for martial classes. It was also to point out the fallacy of their claim that casters had no good alternatives to the staff. The dagger/OH is still very good.
It is a fairly decent alternative but it’s also no easier to obtain because it comes in two pieces. You’re basically either getting really lucky once, or really lucky twice.
People have been hard reserving hot ticket items for the entire life of the game.

Where are people getting the idea it will be BiS until 60? We havent seen anything on new items for the next phase. Tons of players have been saying that its not much different than the staff of Jordan and that wasnt used all the way up to 60.
Also who cares go farm at a later level if its that important. Everyone is getting so worked up over a very irrelevant P1 that is ending in like a week where no spec is really complete a few items you will probably replace working up to new pre BiS and with how easy BFD is isnt and wasnt necessary to need full Pre BiS.
While it’s obviously not as good, the walking stick is still pretty nice for healers in my opinion. It’s the best we can get besides the staff or dagger of sacrifice/book offhand combo.
