since they insist on making different gear for it… im down to let it go… im not about to carry two sets of gear.
it’s more fun when the pve gear works well there. which isnt the case these days.

Well maybe you can see the companies P&L statement, the profit vs cost for WoW and their balance sheet but the rest of us can’t. Also of their profits what percentage gets sent up to Activision and Microsoft?
Only if you know all of these things could you tell if the money they make from store mounts and pets makes all of PvP excessive revenue.
Why you always the most dumb takes? The Celestial Steed made more money than the StarCraft as a whole franchise. The sub is meaningless with the amount of micro people toss their money at for fluff / tokens.

Yes I know this for a fact because I know there’s stuff that exist outside these forums. Look up PC Gamer, Gamerant, Google. Stop being lazy and you’ll see it.
Sounds like someone tried it, was bad at it, and now wants it removed.
You may also want to tell Blizzard to cancel The Arena World Championships.

That took me to PC Gaming, a store where you could buy things. But what is missing is how much volume Blizzard is getting in sales, what the revenue is and how the loss of PvP would compare to the overall revenue vs cost of the game.

So anyway it likely is true at times that the cash shop in WoW makes them more money than even the box sales of each WoW expansion. Probably even more than subs at times as well for all we know depending on the item added to the shop/sales at a given time.

Remove pvp? This seems a bit dramatic… Pvp is the only reason I play wow after experiencing the Story and new zones lol. They already took pvp servers away from us now you want them to just remove pvp?
Just stop pvping if it effects you that bad.

Jason Hill makes a convincing case that Blizzard did well selling the horse. Now the next thing we need to know, to show us that they could do away with PvP and still make enough of a profit to keep Activision/Blizzard and Microsoft happy, is:
- To show how much they make on those microtransactions,
- How much they make on PvP,
- How much they make on Pve,
- How much they make on “other” and
- How it compares to their costs.
That would give you WoW’s profit. Then we have to know if it would still be enough profit if they dropped PvP.
For 20 years WoW has been the numuber one MMO, maybe number 2 for ashort time. Starcraft? No one talks about it. So Just saying microtransactions make more than Starcraft without showing how much WoW costs to produce doesn’t mean much.
Might as well.
World of Warcraft died when the designers started catering to the PVE crowd even tho a majority of it’s playerbase signed up for the PVP.

PvP is one my favorite aspects of the game, but WoW favors Alliance over Horde. Lookup the leaderboard if you doubt. They have been winning a majority of the matches since season 1 of War within kicked off. Pvp should not be removed but WoW needs to divy up the favor more evenly and stop treating Horde like step children.
