I tried it last night a bunch, couldn’t get it so I said eh I’ll do it tomorrow.
Tried just now, got to final phase, Raest now chases you around and still casts Shadow Bolts after the other guy dies, which basically completely destroyed the whole “slow” strat.
Even worse, if you survive a little with him chasing you down like this he just despawns and you get nothing.
Thanks Blizz.

He also moves around the other times he becomes active.

Yup as soon as his phase starts he also starts running around all crazy
I’m also not 100% sure but I think he melee’d me for like 60% of my health for a split second there lol
something’s not quite right…

This is what they consider a fix.

I’m done trying until there are massive nerfs.

He definitely shouldn’t be moving, but I would have thought the “he’ll two-shot you if you kill Karam” thing was enough of an indication that that wasn’t the intended strat…

“Exploit early” is the main motto of the MT again, as it’s always the same with Blizzard.
Reading this I’m so incredibly happy that I’ve done the Twins challenge on Monday as SP and didn’t wait until holidays, which was my original plan.

Makes you wonder what the intended strat is. You can’t kill Raest first because he has so much health that Karam will be zooming around by the time Raest is dead. Guess the intended strat is “quit the game.”

In Legion it was a juggling encounter. The idea was story wise to keep Karam alive at the end but you could also kill him right before killing Raest. The exploit strat everyone was doing last week was obviously to trivialize that.

Here’s someone doing it on a character he barely plays, in crap leveling gear, with the only special item being the Ghost Iron Dragonling:

He makes plenty of mistakes on the kill pull and still manages to get it down. There’s nothing stopping you from doing it either.

There are zero mistakes allowed. One wrong move or misstep and missed anything and you die. Period. Stop deluding yourself.

I literally linked a video where he had to disperse because he failed to kill a hand in time, almost let Karam get to him on multiple occasions, and barely managed to soak a rune because he was on the wrong side of the room when it spawned. And would have died at the end if he’d killed the boss a few seconds slower. All while asking about basic mechanics of his spec because he has barely touched it.
Look, I get it. If you don’t want to put in the effort to practice and learn the encounter, that’s perfectly fine. But you should really stop pretending that there’s something unsurmountable about it.

Raest moves now? So much for Mage Tower being the same fights as they were in Legion, then. I mean this was already the case what with Sigryn no longer running out of mana, or whatever the heck was going on with those adds in Kruul… but yeah, if Blizz is going to make big changes to mechanics like this, as well as slap on a chunk of HP to ensure fights last way longer than they ever did in Legion… why should we take the mage tower seriously? It’s clear Blizzard isn’t.

You’re also talking about a pro WoW player lol.

What does he do in that video that you couldn’t lol.

For real, it gets old reading these “but such and such top 1%er did it, anyone can do it!” comments with regards to 9.1.5 Mage Tower

Take a drink every time you see it.
that crap levelling gear is some of the best stats he could get. 396 int and 24% haste. my shadowlands set rolls in at 369, flasked and runed
They made raest chase you and melee you now?
It never worked like that back in Legion, why screw with it?
