They don’t let you bump your own threads if no one responds

So in leu of doing that I’ll make a new one. No one I know in real life actually games on PC so this is the only place I can share my excitement.

Picked up a Z390 yesterday. It fits all the lga 1151 cpus. Only have to grind real life for another 30 days and then I can get a cpu.

Anyone else building a PC rnow?

I’m just posting so you can bump.

Doing gods work :pray:t2:

I built my beauty end of 2018. Ended up spending $3500 to finish the build but no regrets :ok_hand:

(Another $1500 on peripherals and a new desk.)

Holy heck! I’m aiming to keep it under 2.5. What kind of gfx card do you have?

I went with the Zotac RTX 2080 when they first came out. Couldn’t stretch the budget for the TI, and thus far it’s worked out just fine anyway

Built myself a complete new rig 2 weeks ago, except for the gfx card since I believe it still is more than enough. But my old i5 4xxx non-K together with a cheap $60 MB, still on DDR3 RAM definitely needed the upgrade.

Went with the great AORUS ELITE X570, an AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, 16GB 3200 CL16 RAM, 1tb m.2 NVME SSD, 1TB SATA SSD and a new RED 4TB HDD. My gfx is the nvidia1080 FE

Feels good man, especially since I was so CPU bottlenecked all the time.

This upgrade also ensures that everything is futureproof again, and for the most part that the next big upgrade relies on the GPU again.

I picked up a 3440x1440 asus rog monitor and it was one of the best decisions I made when I upgraded my rig.

To me, higher refresh rate is way more important than resolution.

2560x1440@165hz is a great middle-ground right now.

Can’t wait to have the goodness of everything in a decade, let’s just hope the gfx hardware can keep up

Imagine gaming at 4k or higher @240hz, HDR, whatever the highest color fidelity paneltype will be…

I know people swear they see the difference and I’m sure they do but I can’t notice enough of one from 100hz to 165hz to ever consider leaving my 3440x1440 behind.

I may forever have an ultrawide monitor. The added field of view is amazing.

I just ordered my 16” MacBook Pro w 64gb of ram lol

I can definitely make out the difference, but it is true that for some people, especially depending on the games they play, it is barely noticeable.

Jayztwocents actually did a great video on this topic quite recently https://youtu.be/2pI1LLVPdSs

I play more fast-paced games most of the time, so to me higher refresh is always very welcome. CS, OW, Rocket League and especially osu!.

Yeah one of the things I’m looking forward too is shooter games on high refresh rate monitor.

A little off topic, but were you guys aware that there are private servers for MoP and Cata? I’m just discovering this. I wonder if anyone actually queues arena on those servers. How is it legal to play the game without being subbed?

When I first started playing I remember watching “Cottage 1,” (some Druid from EU,) and I always wanted to try playing cata.

Yea see I rarely play fast paced anything besides an occasional call of duty match. Probably why I don’t notice it.

Yup and nothing wrong with that, 100hz is plenty aswell and everyone should do exacly that: Get the right monitor for what they would get the most use out of what they do most.
