I have no clue how I got TL3 with only 114 posts. This trust level situation is strange indeed. I logged on one day and could see the TL3 lounge.
TL3 is for people who’ve never gone 5 mph over the speed limit in their life.
Who cares. I’ve been silenced like 25+ times.

You have to live here to get TL3. I was in so many alphas and betas that they flagged my account for permanent TL3 on all of my characters. It doesn’t carry over to other Blizzard game forums, though.

Do you consider the fact you’ve been silenced so much an indication that you might have an issue? Or do you think the rules are too strict?
The more it gets talked about the sooner that will end.

I’ve been suspended so many damn times, I liked to collect the little envelopes saying “Your account has been suspended!” because I got heated with the trolls lol.
I want to say I’ve been suspended at least twenty times, by now?
So once a year, just about.
I got Trust Level 3 due to a bug during Shadowlands beta, and it’s permanent lol.

I’ve had forum vacations in the past for being naughty and have lost my Level 3 clearance but it’s pretty easy to get it back. Just takes a little time. Months, not years.

Not really, I got t3 at around 130 posts.
Did you ever get the “Trust Level” that you wanted? I just started reading about it, today… too many rules; it kinda breaks trust, don’t you think?

Idk about OP, but really what it comes down to for most people who don’t legitimately spend an unhealthy amount of time here is autoscrolling through a megathread that’s been active in the last 100 days.
All of the requirements, while a bit annoying, aren’t actually hard or time consuming to accomplish. EXCEPT for the “posts read” metric.
Which is… “25% of all posts in the last 100 days read, up to a maximum of 20,000 posts”.
I have no idea if the WoW Forums have enough posts to cap it at 20,000 or if it’s somewhere under that, but this idea in general is ridiculous and is something that should be expected of a full time moderator on Blizzard payroll or something, not someone wanting to be able to link YouTube videos.
So you go and scroll through a megathread. Slowly. Very slowly (because the dot has to go away and it has to be on the screen for ~3 seconds).
I’m here daily and literally never keep up on that metric unless I cheese it.

Trust levels are really poorly designed on this site and need a major reworking. I agree that they need to exist, but they’re extremely prohibitive and difficult to obtain. And the worst part, in my opinion, is that there’s not even any way to track it. I have no way of knowing how far off I am from the next level. It’s incredibly frustrating.
Second worst part is probably that once you’ve finally earned TL3, it just falls off again after a brief inactivity, even if you haven’t broken any rules.
I don’t enjoy the forums. I don’t want to be here more than maybe a handful of times a month. I just want the ability to post images so I can make my guild advertisement thread look aesthetic.
I feel like I’m in purgatory every day, with my sanity slowly dwindling. Send help.

Oddly enough… it’s what I’m doing atm. I’m here a lot. Post a decent amount. Read A LOT of posts. Enjoy responding to people. Still can’t maintain TL3. At the moment, I’m assuming it’s posts read. 20k is absurdly high. The forums don’t handle large posts well, so it’s lots of clicking on random posts.
Once you get TL3, it should be easy to maintain. If it’s really an every 90 day metric, then we are going to soon be getting to the point where it’s almost impossible to maintain.
The requirements for TL3 need to be changed and actually encourage engagement and participation rather than simply fudging the numbers.

I don’t know how this works at all anymore. I’ve never been able to get it back after straight up not coming to the forums for a few years. I’ve had one post removed since I came back and the whole thread was scrapped so I’m not even sure if that counted as an “action” 
I don’t honestly care about the TL grind or having it, it just makes it annoying when I’m trying to help someone and can’t give them a direct source. Last night I couldn’t even post to an article on Blizzard’s own website because I don’t have TL3, which is just silly.
Nice necro. Anyway, anytime you see peeps with T3 you know they live on here and just feed each other. It’s pretty sad.

Speaking as someone who previously had TL3 and is trying to get it back, this is entirely true. And it’s really depressing that this site is designed in such a way where you have to live on here in order to get and maintain link privileges. It encourages such toxicity/no-life behavior, and it’s like a green goblin mask I have to constantly resist when attempting to obtain TL3.
