there are a few packs like that, but it’s not every pack. i’ve leveled a couple tanks to 70 through dungeons so far and i see the same things in almost every single dungeon:
dps pulling random stuff (not a tank issue) and dps not staying with me, instead just standing still and attacking the first thing i touched while i continue gathering.
nobody other than me making any attempt to interrupt or stun anything. yes, some packs have unavoidable damage, but an awful lot of it is actually avoidable if people bother to try. the “it’s just normals, i don’t want to interrupt” attitude is fine if you’re not also whining about dying.
people can play how they want, but if you (and i mean the general you, not you specifically!) plan to do m+ you need to learn how dungeon pulls work. the pull starts when the tank has everything gathered and has established aggro on the group, not when the tank enters combat.
Nerfing tanks right before more difficult content comes out was probably not the right move.
They need to stop treating this like a balance problem and start treating it like a behavioral problem imo. You wanna pull half the dungeon and watch your teammates all die? I don’t really see how it’s different from griefing.
Either someone is a garbage tank who doesn’t know basic game mechanics – or they’re intentionally pulling mobs knowing that some of their teammates aren’t gonna be able to survive.
Both are behavioral issues. One can be fixed with experience/help and the other can be fixed with a vacation.
What was awful was how overpowered tanks were when released. Shouldn’t be able to pull half a dungeon while your party dies in your trail from aoe damage repeatedly and you solo the dungeon.
Probably the worst balance I’ve ever seen in a game and I’m glad they are addressing it promptly.
if you tell me that the tanks do that in M +15 +20 +25 I accept the nerf enchanting and I celebrate it, if you tell me that it is because of what they do in an M0 I will continue thinking that it is absurd and that the developers were drunk when they did that !
Probably if we go back to that, even with 10% more damage the tanks will continue pulling insanely to get better time in the keys and when they can’t hold they will just run… in high keys you have to play like that to get the time!
Yep, as a tank I am now on strike. I will tank absolutely nothing outside of my static, not even heroics. To all the DPS cheering tank nerfs, you can pick up the sword & board or enjoy your queues. If you do decide to tank I’ll be there in my fury spec, blowing CD’s and ruining your attempts to group mobs.
I honestly haven’t noticed any difference. I’m not even that good TBH.
I can tank alongside a 380+ warrior and even managed to pull threat. But I think the boss was bugged. He said his threat would be over 100% and then the boss would just snap to me.
