Its the difference between the player base now and then, back then people played bgs for fun and got the gear when they got it.
Now people have a schedule I need to have these bgs pieces by week 3 of arenas or im irrevocably behind. Tbc was never designed to be played in that mindset and so it wont be an enjoyable way to play
because its literally an absurd expectation especially when you gave all those people a nice window of time to farm it in pre patch. they had 85 percent of the gear by the time they hit 70. so why remove it?? the real prize is the arena gear and that is still the same, why do pvpers have to ruin their life to gear when pvers get geared in a few raids and heroics?
Adapt. Everytime blizzard tries to make the game better it comes back with repercussions. Find alternative gear that will make you stronger.
how would giving an honor bonus to bgs make the game worse/
Vanilla honor and tbc honor are vastly different things it is why those people played night and day to cap in prepatch as the honor now is much lower.
Do I agree with bringing honor across? No but it was known from the original transition that it would carry across
it legitimately doesnt matter if they buff honor in bgs at all, because arena gear is still the same amount of points with no bonuses. it just means more people can access arena without dying instantly
I wish you and me could enjoy it ourselves but we both know getting absolutely ran over by premades makes that hard to do
People would get their gear and would no longer need to queue for BGs. There should always be an incentive for queueing BGs or the game would die. Remember there’s always a sweatier person than you waiting to min/max the game in a blink of an eye.
This is a great point actually. Back then, there wasn’t really a gear chase. Gear was just a bonus. Playing BGs was the content.
yes, people would have incentive to make alts, and then play in bgs, thats honestly a bad argument
theres literally no reason to make an alt for pvp purposes right now
Some people don’t have time for alts. Think of others.
yeah they dont have time because they are busy farming 4k honor in 7 hours. hello???
“Welfare epics” was a comment made by a Blizzard employee about Badge gear, not PvP gear in the first place.
I could care less about the source of the honor, it just seems that the honor per hour is low, as for if that comes from kills or bonus is kinda pointless to me. I only care to win and kill stuff.
Some people don’t play the game for 7 hours?? Maybe 2-3 at most because they have a job or family responsibilities? Hello???
Yes but you need to kill more stuff like a person who is clueless about the win conditions of the BG.
Remember strategies were still being developed in tbc about how best to deal with all the different battles and most bgs devolved into 80% kill farming 10% afk and 10% actually trying to win.
then those people arent having fun in arena??? do you see how you have no argument besides #nochanges?
Actually they are probably having more fun than you at the moment as their gametime does not consist of a checklist of tasks that must be done before they can have fun
Be patient is all I can say. The games been out for a few weeks and people like you are already freaking out that they can’t min/max the game soon enough.
Bloomsday is well known in the arena forum section for being a ‘blizzard shill’ as the kids over there say.
In short - he’s here to comment on your thread in a somewhat contrarian (though not necessarily aggressive) manner. Standard stuff. You get used to it and eventually tune specific people out
Agreed, honor gains seem a bit off. We can all thank that one guy (forgot his name) who ruined this by showing blizzard private server screenshots to convince them to nerf the honor. What a teacher’s pet.
