These dailies are the worst I've ever seen

This patch is turning out to be a flop in many ways but I’ll save that for another post. I just wanted to come here to express my frustration about daily quests that take 20 min to complete. 20 min to complete a daily quest is already asking a lot but if I was actively playing the game for those 20 min I probably wouldnt be posting this. What is actually happening is I am flying around for 18min looking for the monsters to drop down and kill them in 15sec. For a 20min daily quest I’m spening 18min flying and 2 min playing the game.

This is not unique. It’s happening to me for most of these new daily quests in most of the zones. This is happening to my friends too. This is happening to most everyone as all I see in these zone is tons of flying mounts and very few people playing the game.

$15/mo = $180year and this is some bullcrap for a brand new patch that is supposed to keep us content for what 8 months?

An easy fix would be to increase spawn timers of things like rares, prison cages, and obelisks.

Another easy fix is to allow tag and resource sharing including cross faction for elite mobs.

Came to ****post but I can’t.

They are using a similar design they did with early BFA world quests. Many people noticed in BFA beta that they spent more time traveling to world quests than doing the world quests themselves.

This has become a common theme since then and has carried over to dailies in patch 8.3.

I didn’t even mention the fact that Tuesday night I got all hyped, respec’d for World PvP. Retrained azerite gear for that spec and totally got ready to do the new quest chain with world pvp active.

Turns out just like with the release of BFA horde outnumbers alliance by a staggering amount and after 45min of fight 1v5 battles I turned off WM. This made me realize how the imbalance in world pvp makes even more of the minority turn of Warmode which only makes more people do the same. It’s a snowball effect. Rewards were made in BFA release to incentivse the minority to participate but after horde backlash that this “wasnt fair” those rewards were nerfed.

Well I just gave up writ of the sun king. flying all over near Halls for 45 min at the same time eating pizza I was lucky to even get 7 tags on the mobs but in the end I only looted 2 writs. Sure I can live without 50 of the currency as long as I don’t have to spend any more time on that quest.

Agreed. The drop rates are crap, over 60+ hunters or hyenas for the 6 hides I needed, and a slow respawn rate. The Fleshbeast daily? yeah F that noise. 4 Rares? a few hours more like it.

I understand that content has to last, but this new metric way of measuring time, flat out sucks.

War mode has always been a dumpster fire. It has been since it was announced.

Not sure why they thought that a toggle would somehow fix all of the imbalances that have taken over a decade to achieve.

Honestly even if they homogenized all racials and allowed free faction transfers - a lot of people still wouldn’t do it.

Rather than taking a slower, methodical approach, they dropped a nuke on the whole world PvP system.

It still defies all reason to me why one of the rewards is an XP bonus (that is useless to me once I hit cap). 10% bonus rewards? What rewards? Gold which is trivial? ilvl which it isn’t a thing - at least not 10%. Rep? No that would make too much sense - and even that is also useless to most non-tryhard-collectors beyond exalted.

The war mode system was destined to fail from the beginning.

Welcome to Blizz applying what they think made Classic successful to retail.

The two biggest problems I’ve seen is the drop rate for certain quests is horrible and the second which rolls into the first is the spawn rate / number of quest enemies to kill.

When you drop a major patch and you’re expecting lots and lots of people playing. You don’t dial back on stuff like this. The thing is why does it always happen?

All Blizzard is doing is making me not play the game. I just spent 50 min flying around looking for 4 rares in Vale…only to find 1. You can see other players following the same path just flying around looking. I even stayed at one spot I knew a rare has been seen before. After 11 min I left.

I’ll see what these “devs” say about making some changes to the timers, but I might be skipping these reps unless they are needed for the patch story. Even then, I might be stepping back.

Great design

I’d love to overhaul the rare spawn timer.

If it’s a guaranteed mount drop, then I’d make the timer long. If it’s a low % drop then I’d make it 5 mins. And maybe 1 or 2 mins for all other rares.

I’m pretty tolerant and I’m getting sad about the new quest/dailys. There is not nearly enough spawns. I finished 3/4 quests in the vale in 20 minutes and spent 2 hours flying around in circles looking for rares for the last quest.

Either make it 1 rare or increase the spawn rate.

Where I’m at now is I’ve finished all of my dailies and am sitting a bit bored. Cleared the bosses I cared about in EP for the week, and I am sick to DEATH of M+ at the moment.

There’s nothing to do? Question mark. I thought about running an alt through the storyline and grabbing the cloak, but I can’t even fathom doing those dailys on two characters. One is more than enough. And the rewards are so BLEH.

Iunno.

I second this post.

  1. 50 CV per daily to get 10k is a bad joke. Argent tourny redo?
  2. Spawn rates are slower than Zandalar, at least keep up the pace.
  3. Bugged quests like the artifact collecting where artifacts disappear after accepting the daily…
  4. Two zones, very limited content. They could have 4-5 assaults instead of 2.
  5. The Vessel’s show (5) uses but are all used in one encounter, even if you don’t use it and back out before starting!
  6. Why a cloak? Why not a ring or belt?

Unless blizzard is actually just trying to force people to play 24/7 to get latest content, someone messed up with this patch bigly.

I did those dailies for two days. I’m done. Not fun in any way what so ever.

Their way of determining if game content is popular or “liked” is to look at time played by the players. How much time do you spend on things. So they game the system by making stuff take long, and then they say “see! people spent a long time on this so they must like it”.

War Mode is great for leveling, even in BfA zones. Other than that though I leave it off. But I don’t turn it off while leveling ever. I’ve been ganked only twice as far as I can remember, and they were on the same character (my mage) in Vol’dun within 20 minutes of each other. The same pair was circling around doing things and I happened to be in their path both times. I was attacked while leveling my PLD by a 120 character but I bubblehearthed while /laughing at them. Felt good.

I agree 100%.
This isnt fun at all.

They knew it was a flop. They didn’t even try.

If it weren’t for Classic, sub numbers would be like 500k.
