They didn’t have to do it, as again, they never had before, so it would be the height of foolishness to claim that and fail to pull it off.

the fact there is absolutely 0 major complex progression and expansion systems that take up a ton of time, are completely broken etc is going to open up SO much time to add more content into the game, unless blizzard just sits back and assumes we wont leave i fully expect DF to be one of the most feature rich expansions we have had a while. No artifacts, no Power systems, no complete queing modes, no major player power systems to balance beyond class talents, i mean take all that away there should be a ton more time for more world content, more zones, updates to existing things that need updating etc etc

Isn’t it a bit early to be complaining about content drought? Season 1 just started. Have you finished everything already? WoD content drought lasted more than an year. Was the next patch release date announced to be more than an year from now? No? Then wtf are you talking about?

All that “complex progression”, etc WAS content. You did things in game to increase your power via the system of the moment. Whether it was Artifact Power, Azerite Power or Covenants. They all required players to do things in game which is content. Replacing content that gave power with content that doesn’t won’t somehow mean we’ll have more to do.
Without player power tied to “content” we just get things like the Abomination Factory in Shadowlands which was fun for a week and then ignored by most players.
That’s what we have right now.
Renown is basically a tool to get pets and toys and a trickle of story.
Storms are a waste of time.
World Quests are mainly fuel for Renown (see above) which can almost be ignored outside of the story gating.
In BFA I ran M+ and Raided on a couple of toons and the rest I derped around with World Quests and Warfronts because both offered player power in a chill manner.
In DF I still have a couple of toons that do M+ and Raidng. For any Alts (if I don’t want to Raid or M+) my choices are Soup, Hunts or Dragonbane Keep which each take 15 minutes or grab some World quests for capped gear rewards that become useless in a day or two.
Listen, man, I harp on Blizzard’s shortcomings whenever I can with my friends, but your vague waving-hand-at-everything signaling of something egregiously wrong with DF when it’s been going actually great in everything but writing, which is still better than other expansions, is nonsense. The devs have actually taken notes from FFXIV’s devs and have been very transparent about upcoming content, reasoning for changes and buffs/nerfs, and are very communicative with the playerbase as far as I can tell, especially compared to SL’s absurdity.

Just because they have a roadmap doesn’t mean I want to make the journey. Other than the Trading Post I have not seen any content they have listed that I want to try. Bring back real flying and then we can talk. Otherwise nope.
This will never be like WoD, just for the simple fact that they enabled some sort of flight at the start.
