Rdf did though. Try amd find one persin that tried to use rdf and didnt get put into group with a tank.
The shortage is how many people are interested in playing tanks, taking leadership roles & putting up with the nonsense that some DPS players bring to the party/raid.

There are plenty of tanks. As the post above says. Just not a lot that want to put up with clown/non guild dps. I do however enjoy watching people get clapped occasionally after I let them learn a quick lesson about aggro.

You can tank as all 3 specs, especially dungeons. I’m planning on keeping my dual spec as Frost/Unholy and just take a few of the tank talents in my Frost build for when I want to tank dungeons.
Tanks not only have responsibility and dealing with mean players, but also have no stats to show for the hard work. DPS and healers have parses but tanks don’t. It’s why tanks are surplus in guilds, but not dungeons. Being in a guild as a tank is very rewarding while in pugs can turn into a nightmare. I do love tanking and doing it, and even host pugs but it is a very stressful job. Job being the key and accurate word in a game. Plan to retire and go DPS mostly in Wrath, or make a DK tank alt.
Also further prove a point, tanking in the LFR system is just a nightmare. It’s the only role that can wipe the raid and it gets all the hate. One slip up and the tank is kicked or barraged with hate. It happens when it’s not even the tank’s fault and a DPS or healer standing in the wrong spot. Tank in LFR is the only role that has to have experience tanking the raid for an entry raid difficulty. I’ve stopped tanking in LFR since Legion, and boy no it’s been just so much better! Even then only do LFR when a raid quest is needed, and only as DPS.

The first DK I created (Cata sometime I think) is still not max level.
and 97% of them will be locked in as dps
