There are some people who don’t want a TBC:C permanent era server because they think it’ll take away from the playerbase on their chosen game. Honestly there’s no reason why we can’t have Vanilla, TBC, AND Wrath classic permanent era servers all active at the same time. You go on classic era right now and look through all of the low pop servers and most of the medium pop servers and you’ll find that most of them are just being used by gold selling companies to bot farm away from the prying eyes of people who’d potentially report them. I know because I checked this a couple months back personally. There were SO many servers that had maybe like 3-4 people in SW/Orgrimmar, but had a whole bunch of Warlocks with names like “Aiehgaoghaeijngkjsdngkjsd” in Dire Maul.
If Blizzard just consolidated the servers that only had like 30-50 players on per faction at max level at peak hours and then just got rid of all the completely dead ones that are only used as Chinese gold botting hubs we could ALL eat good in any era we wanted. There’s absolutely no reason why we couldn’t have a grip of vanilla classic servers, a few HC vanilla classic servers, a few classic TBC and classic Wrath servers, and maybe one or two rotating era progression servers that act kind of like pseudo-seasons where one reaches the end of it’s content cycle right as another one is about to begin theirs.
The fact that there’s even a discussion on having to pick one or the other when there’s over a dozen “dead” servers on vanilla classic is completely stupid. I mean I’d play all three era servers. It’s not like it has to be mutually exclusive.

they will probably make a TBC era when TBC ends and also a wrath era when wrath ends. Then, God willing, they will simply stop, let the era servers breathe for like 3-6 months, then do fresh vanilla again.
releasing all 3 as a fresh server right now is simply too much to handle. it would divide the player base too much.

Yeah but I mean we still got basically a whole year before the new fresh servers coming out next week roll into TBC era so they got plenty of time still, so it’s not like it couldn’t be done in a staggered release state. I just mean that with all the dead/empty vanilla classic servers there are, if they got rid of just 3-5 of them there’d definitely be room for a couple TBC and Wrath era permanent servers. I wont say it’d be the same cost as wrath and tbc bring a slew of new content, which is a lot of more files a server has to compensate for, but it’s not like it’s anything new to Blizzard at this point.
My god stop saying it would divide the player base, this is a completely made up problem that doesn’t exist. I am not playing Classic right now because there is no TBC. I have no interest in playing vanilla era because it’s missing too much compared to TBC. I’m not playing Cataclysm because I don’t like it. I am only currently subbed for retail. If there’s no TBC Era, and I get bored of retail, I will just unsub. I’m not so addicted to WoW that I’ll play anything they put out, I skip it if I don’t like it.
The only reason Classic has low-pop servers is because Blizzard made too many of them. They overestimated the ability of the initial hype to be sustained.

I see people complain about that on the regular.
Hoping
Complaining about a hypothetical thing, yes they do this. The splitting of the player base has long since been proven to be mostly a fallacy. More freedom of choice attracts more players, and most players - newcomers and old alike - play more, meaning more playtime to distribute over the more choices.

There’s no reason we need TBC or Wrath servers.
Most people just want Vanilla FRESH
there is a reason and it is to play tbc and wrath which we cant do right now. the goal is to have perma era servers of vanilla tbc and wotlk so we can raid naxxramas(60) sunwell and icecrown all in 1 week every week

No that’s just going to split up everyone.
They won’t do it.
nahhh this would only generate subscribers and please die hard tbc and wrath fans
TBC is mid and WOTLK is bad.
vanilla tbc and wotlk are peak wow and always will be
Nope, Vanilla is the best by a lot.
The other 2 a bad.
The only redeaming quality of TBC is Kara. Kara should be part of Vanilla.
No it’s not. That’s why we’ve had Fresh Vanilla for 20 years on private server and barely any Fresh TBC or WOTLK.
LOL
Yep.
Many like me will play version x for like 2-3 days. ANd leave anyway. I close up cata needs for the week…and wander.
More wow options means I stay in wow land. Otherwise it pick the random steam game and wander there. Either way…wandering happens.
Games aren’t a marriage as I like to say.

idk bruh when i was a kid i remember doing nothing but playing tbc private servers. and plus most private servers are based on wotlk. perma wotlk is literally like one of the most populated private servers right nowand has been for like 5+ years
Because Blizzard shut down the vanilla one bro.
LOL
How do you think Classic happened??? You think they magically decided to do this out of the kindness of their hearts?
