Paladin buffs…5 minutes?
Literally why. They already have to use an addon just to coordinate who is buffing what, why are the buffs only 5 minutes on top of that? At the very least, extend them to 10 minutes so we’re not having to rebuff the whole group/raid every few trash packs.
And since all the Shamans in this thread are going “b-b-b-b-but totems!”, totems are different. You press 1 button and it buffs 5 people instantly. One GCD, 5 buffs. That’s why it has a shorter duration.
I don’t play paladin, but I 100% agree. they should be at least 15 minutes. same with “buff” totems, though thye have to be redropped anyway as you move through the raid, but will be more important for long boss fights.
Lesser blessings and weapon imbues should both be increased to 15-30 minutes, with Greater Blessings increased from 15 min to 30-60 minutes. Weapon Imbues should also be removable by right clicking. It’s kind of annoying when a feral druid joins a group and you have to wait until the imbue falls off to start getting WF.
Yes please extend the time on pally blessings. It is so frustrating buffing for 5min and needing to rebuff ever other trash pack. And then having to buff on bosses 2-3 times because someone wants to delay the pull. Needing to drink more than mages is not fun.
I notice you ignored the direct comparison, shaman totems, which are 2m. So you’re right, if we’re rebalancing blessings we should make them 1m instead of 5m to balance their higher power. Also remove greater blessings. That’d go a long way toward balancing them.
OMG YES 15 MINUTES BUFFS PLEASE AND RAID WIED BUFF 2 While you’re at it Seriously nobody has fun with playing the tic tac toe Of the buff shuffle as I call it.
Honestly 10 minutes would be just fine for minor buffs, and I would think also for shaman buffing totems, though having an extended time won’t remove all the issues with annoyances with totems.
Yeah, just like there isn’t any runes that totally change the dynamic of the game… and a newbie dungeon changed to a raid… and a level cap that is 25 instead of 60…
Shaman same thing… If youre the shaman tank and you forget to put RB on all 3 of your weapons (for DW / shield swap) you wont have threat and will wipe your raid.
Ok Speaking as a paladin sir I’ll have you know I go out of my way as best. I can to make sure I buff everybody.
Whether it be in tbc wrath or sod I’m assuming you’ve been in some groups with some bad players.
So I ask you kindly not to judge all Paladins or people that play them. Just because you’ve had some bad experiences. It’s not the class that makes a player bad or good.
And let me tell ya 5 mint buffs Are annoying as all get out So yeah I could say the same thing about druids There’s been a lot of runs i’ve done where they don’t ever mark.
Just like i’ve seen several dps that don’t know how to do any type of agro control too Whether that be Death night in wrath or a Mage in sod.
We should make it so that 4 blessings per paladin can be placed on a single player too, since a shaman can put 4 totems down to buff a single party member.
Oh I’m sorry… I thought we were just saying stupid stuff in this thread that doesn’t help anybody. Carry on.
Anyway, as a career Paladin since 2004, I would definitely love for the buffs to be increased to 15 minutes. Maybe they can make one of the future slots for runes be a “QoL” slot that allows for things like 15 minute blessings, 5 minute totems, reduced PW:F cost, etc, based on the rune and class.
Nope sorry, blessings are stronger, not group limited, less mana, less GCDs, longer duration (currently), also give group buffs, not range limited. They are better in every way. No reason they should be buffed whatsoever, if they are changed they should be significantly nerfed. And you can provide every buff to the raid for 3-4 paladins vs. 8+ shamans. Increasing totem length does nothing to fix this because they need to be re-dropped repeatedly. Really the logical way to balance this is to severely nerf blessings or make it so you have to actively maintain them a lot more to provide parity.
I find fault in this logic for why we have to keep stupid things just because “is classic”. I don’t play classic for 5 min buffs. I play it for the daily routine of classic compared to retail. No M+'s, raids only have one difficulty, questing is more freeroam and less tied down by linear chains, crafting and dungeons feel more useful at all stages of the game, no awful arenas, etc.
People need to learn the difference of the routine that makes classic enjoyable, and the garbage that nobody finds fun that even retail was smart enough to get rid of. And we can’t say #nochanges anymore, because I sure as heck didn’t have chaos bolt in classic or a tank rogue.
