Theres no other game like WoW (IMO)

sad story… my graphic card died on me about 10 days ago… and im kinda low on cash and in a rough spot in life ATM so i havent been able to afford a new one.

This means no WoW for me.

Man it sucks… i have access to like 500 other games on my ps4 and pc that i could play but they just dont do it for me.

I miss wow so much lol.

there really is no other game like it (at least in my experience)

i love the big giant open world, I love the freedom, I absolutely love love loveee playing BGs on all 4 of my max lvl toons. I love grouping up with friends and stomping out alliance.

I’m torn between telling you sorry, I feel for you, and wow, sounds like this will be a good break for you because your level of desire to play sounds like it might be a bit unhealthy.

Good thing Christmas is around the corner and you can ask Santa for one.

It all depends on if you’ve been a good orc or not.

Tho’ really, graphic cards aren’t that expensive so you should take advantage of Cyber Monday or Boxing Day sales and get a new (or upgraded) card, and/or just enjoy the time away from the PC as everyone’s waiting for 8.3 anyway.

It’ll be a good break. Sucks because I agree, I can’t get into other games thanks to WoW.

That being said, I’ve been playing less and doing more RL stuff (mainly painting Warhammer) but now’s a good time to pick up a book and just chillax… or watch something new on Netflix.

Amen brother,

Tried getting into ESO & FFXIV, WoW kept pulling me back in. Even then I play less and put more emphasis on other hobbies in RL to which whenever I am bored or get the craves for WoW that’s when I jump in.

PS: Retail WoW not classic
PSS: Classic too much @ss backward grinds endlessly like a zombie

If I didn’t have wow I would probably paint too. Wow is just more than a videogame to me

D&D Neverwinter was being a “try hard” wow clone that when they’ve gotten rid of the ability of creating your own class by introducing limited abilities and talents, I stopped playing.

There’s also Rift; which turned into an epic flop.

WoW isn’t even a real “open world” mmo because everything is instanced and it’s more like a single-player game than a MMORPG anymore. Most people who continue to play WoW do it because they have had their characters or accounts for like 10 or 15 years so it’s a waste to just abandon things. All it will take is one killer mmo that brings just a little more to the table and you will see many people leave WoW.

Sometimes life reminds us of how important it is. Even if it comes in the form of a broken GPU.

What if…

What if me am the kind of orc

Well if your on a budget, their are some pretty budget cards that will run WoW and other games (at graphic setting low of coarse). If you do have 500 bucks kicking around, i would recommend the RTX 2060 super as your… sorta highend but not really graphic card for an affordable price. I worded that weridly, it is high end, but it’s a low tier high end cause better options exist for a much higher price.

If you are really broke, but happen to own a powerful enough phone, you run your games via steamlink and see if you can hook a controller up or even a mouse and keyboard, which is better then nothing.

If all else fails, i guess play your console in the meantime. I got my Ps2 and Xbox 360 (so just one console), in the event if my computer’s graphic card poo’s out.

I mean, do they even still exist in this day and age, let alone a payphone? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

And sometimes, Life just outright sucks, when you pour something you want to do for a good chunk of your life, only for it to come into a screeching halt.

…Well, for my case, i can bother my brother’s graphic card until we get the money for a new replacement which is like… 2 months tops.

Okay, if your just hating on WoW, why you haven’t left yet?

I’m older so I’ve been around the block on this want stuff. I realized that my wants were just a reflection of my choices for years. It may sound wrong but simply doing what you don’t want to do can engineer a change in who you are which then modifies your wants.

The trajectory of being so enamored with WoW isn’t a good result. Well, they used to once upon a time call EverQuest, EverCrack. It’s a good fix for a low consequence risk-reward loop but the rewards are entirely digital. Best kept a hobby not a life pursuit.
