Who? Oh. Apparently that post got flagged. Ignore what I said.
Yup.
The SPriest changes have been welcomed by all but a small number of “theory crafters” (of which one is named), who have taken upon themselves to chuck a hissy.
These changes are fantastic, but, the community still needs to give solid feedback through vigorous testing.
It’s a happy day for Priest, and I do hope Hunter receive changes too.
Nailed it
I actually laughed out loud on this.
Precise Shots is bad. That is my main one. I also enjoyed Aimed Shot being a focus dump more than a cooldown ability that the spec revolves around(I can deal with this one though). Rapid Fire needs some work, as it kills the rotation(especially with Streamline talent and during Trueshot). Speaking of which, Trueshot is just a cluttered mess. Many talents are overwhelmingly good for their row (Master Marksman, Careful Aim) making them not really be choices at all. Some talents are completely useless (Steady Focus), Lock n’ Load is undertuned as hell (that row is now choose Calling the Shots for ST and Volley for M+, I like Volley but not Calling the Shots), Streamline is the most backwards designed talent I’ve ever seen. I’d also like to see all the old Stings returned baseline.
I’m not gonna talk about SV.
I felt, and still feel the same. MM Hunter was effectively destroyed with the 7.2 pre-patch. For 2 years I would not play my Hunter, couldn’t play my Hunter.
I use this! With this Talent, when a Mob inevitably catches up, I can shoot it a ton of times with Steady Shot as I speedily strafe away. Actually, I strafe in a circle.
With the Talent, SS cast time comes down to less than a second.
Yeah like this will just become a debate of opinion and personal preference so I won’t get into that.
I’d just leave it as I prefer ANY iteration of MM over the BFA (and currently SL) version of MM.
We’ll see…
Near zero changes for us, since launch of alpha, so far. They asked us for feedback and so far pretty much nothing’s resulted in fixes for any of the reported issues regarding the class.
Not really after an overhaul. Maybe sort of for MM. Since it, according to many, played better before anything we’ve seen since Legion hit.
BM mostly needs changes to certain talents. I would want for Crows to become a baseline ability for BM. Maybe with a talent that further builds on it’s interaction with for example Kill Command.
I also think that BM should get the choice between using Barbed Shot or Dire Beast back. It’s a very easy way to cater to more player preferences, both visually as well as mechanically.
Oh, and Animal Companion should be a baseline passive effect, providing the same choice to play with one pet or with two. It should not require us to permanently lock in a talent.
As for current SV, it’s a melee spec so I have no interest in it. I’m sure there are others who like it and have their own preferences for what should be done to it.
Other than this…
With all their(devs) talk about bringing things back that were previously removed for w/e reason, it’s time they give us back the old SV spec which we had prior to Legion.
The one based on DoTs and the use of a ranged weapon. Aka: RSV.
Understatement of the decade
Agreed. I actually stopped paying/playing for bout a year and some time due to legion version.
That design started the huge discussion and forum topic of “Let’s talk” (the old forums) the last time a blue post was given to the hunter community outside of procedural ones.
Here are the small changes that would make the class feel SOOO much better:
Hunter’s mark off gcd
Aimed shot cast while moving
Trick shots on 2 targets
Scatter shot replaces bursting shot
Just doing those 4 changes would massively increase the fun of the class. Please Blizzard!!!
Then it will be macro’d to everything, making it pointless.
Big fan of added utility to it rather than damage increase.
This. I’d rather see a passive damage increase applied after hitting something with a specific shot, rather than a “Burn GCD to do 5% more damage to this until you’re done.” It’s in no way rewarding. I’d rather have Serpent Sting baseline with a first row talent that’s a damage amp. Just make HM vision utility.
I am a simple hunter and at the very least wish we could get some FFXIV bard style bow animations. Guns can do a lot of them too.
Our animations are so boring.
Yes I also support class fixes before that comes up.
So you have never pre-placed Hunter’s Mark on rogues, druids, the Pandaria challenge tames, nor anything else that you don’t want to/can’t attack yet? There are opportunities to use Hunter’s mark where binding it to something is a bad idea.
And pets are still locked into a spec, being able to pick the spec for my pet is the only real change I want to see.
