Ah right, I forgot they had changed the legacy loot earlier when covid started. It was usually 2 expansions later.
Doesn’t make sense to be able to use abilities that are bound to the shadowlands outside of it.

Unfortunately.
I just from time to time skim over new updates, changes etc and it’s really getting to a head-scratching point with a lot of what they are doing.
Well the limitation that they gave when created in legion was that you had to be greater than 10 levels. And that was for both the buff and loot to go into legacy. Thankfully they decoupled the two and will keep them decoupled in shadowlands.
Then why can I use Death Coil ? Raise Ally ? Raise Dead ?
Control Undead ?
You know you’re discussing this with a Death Knight right…
Why can I use the Heart of Azeroth on Draenor ?
The legendary ring built from the elemental forces of Draenor on Azeroth ?
Yeah let’s delete your class then.
I honestly don’t get alot of the changes they make/have made over the years. Obviously no one has a universal opinion on what “fun” is… but to muscle ahead even when a large to majority of your players are telling you not to is a good indicator.
I mean, we’re not at 1 boneheaded decision close here. I don’t get why you think this is a good change ?
Seems pretty much the majority of people are thinking this is boneheaded. I’m curious as to your reason for trying to justify this since it doesn’t seem like it will change anything for you. You can simply not use them.
I already gave him an explanation as for why it didn’t and couldn’t happen then. Just doesn’t want to see it. Would be rather funny even if those items are now legacy to see blizzard restrict them to their respective content eras in order to satisfy and quell inconsistencies brought up in this discussion.
It’s not about that. It’s that this is an MMO. The whole world is the world. It’s not WoW+Shadowlands. By their logic, you technically shouldn’t exist outside the Shadowlands, and the expansion should literally just raze the rest of the world. If I have abilities A in location X and hold identity Q, if I change to location Y and have identity Q, I should still have abilities A…
Dude I said I don’t like it so lay off me. I just said it made sense lorewise. And it does. Now whatever they didn’t do previously is irrelevant. That’s like asking why Garrosh is still alive in Borean Tundra.
That logic went out the window the moment tbc launched with putting people in their own level bracket playpen away from everyone else.
And probably never will be for some.
Well, too bad, your abilities require being on the shadowlands for them to work.
You don’t need these abilities to farm mounts in the firelands
Well too bad.
I sure hope so because it is a very petty thing to be angry about.
You’re the one that’s laying into me and trying to find ways to justify this ![]()
Because he is alive in the events of Borean Tundra. Dying doesn’t erase your entire historical existence ![]()
So why doesn’t it make sense that older content is removed from a timelime when covenant abilities is a thing?
Welcome to my side of the equation. You are learning to win.

So the forums and Twitter constitute a “large to majority” of the player base?
I don’t have the numbers, but I’m doubtful.
When was this ? What changed in Borean Tundra ?
True.
Making the expansion a standalone expansion feels bad!

That’s not what I meant. Why is it okay for Borean Tundra (in this example) to be removed from the current timeline but the Shadowlands can’t?
