My god… I never knew the depth that some professions had in classic. There’s literally a potion for almost every conceivable situation you could possibly think of!
I’ve tanked MC a few times now, and just stepping into BWL… and my guild has encouraged me to carry around 2 bags of miscellaneous potions… Free action potions, stoneeshield potions, health potions, fire absorb potions, invulnerability potions, mana potions, flasks, armor potions… the class lead literally gave me a list a mile long. I have over 80 potion on me just to raid…
I appreciate the flexibility in the system but geeze… the prep time per week just to collect these potions is mind boggling.
Who wants to tell him about world buffs?

See that parts easy, I literally just fork over 10 gold, do a bit of running and i can get DM/ZG/ony quite easily.

It’s classic. The game is mindnumbling easy. You don’t need most of those potions unless you’re speed running or your guild is obsessed with parses.

There’s a reason profession alts are a thing; but if you’re the MT, there should definitely be a guild alchemist available.
That’s kind of overkill for MC. If you’re tanking a chill MC have some elixir of the mongoose, FAP, maybe FR pot and stoneshield depending on how geared you are and how easily the healers can keep you up.
Hit 60 an maybe you can talk about whats needed baby boy.

there is no slow fall potion, which I find ridiculous!

It’s not an alchemy product, but is noggenfogger not a slowfall potion?
You shouldn’t be using all 80 potions every week .
This is definitely a benefit to having a decent guild.
If you clear in one hour or less you only need a few pots, as long as you’re not dying of course.
That’s being a bit try hard you don’t need that many potions for raiding. Have a stack of healing potions and stack of mana potions and you’re good (couple stacks if you’re a healer). I tank in MC on my druid and don’t use anything. If you’re raiding BWL maybe carry a fire protection potion or a couple faps if you’re a tank but other than that…meh.
As a tank the problem is certainly exacerbated but I think it’s its cool and fun to have all these options instead of just DPS INCREASE POTION being the only thing available.

Or water walking, and that also annoys me.

Outside of a normal consume stack, the MT only needs to carry FAPs, GSS, HPs as active potions. The greater elemental protection potions are better on dps as a buffer to standing in the wrong spot. Stop by felwood and grab some whipper roots too. You can pop a health stone, health pot, and a whipper root all at the same time, like your very own LoH.
Yea, consumables are one of the best parts of classic, it just makes it feel like more of an RPG.
If you’re not drinking a potion at every cool down you’re not playing at the top of your game. On average each potion takes 3.5 seconds off your raid time and increases your parse by 0.006%. If you’re not willing to farm for a couple of dozen hours a week to shave 3 minutes off your raid time you’re just lazy.
The OP’s post makes me grateful for Retail’s lack of potion diversity.
