Think about it, from 2004 all the way to current day, so many players constantly complain about things they want changed in the game, abilities or features they want added, races they want to play, balance issues they want fixed. For so many years I was the same, you never really enjoy what you’re doing because you’re always living in this state of hopefulness or disdain for things that may or may not even happen in future patches.
Wow classic fixes that. You know it will always be how it is, there’s no point in asking for new things and you don’t have to worry the next patch will nerf your class because there will never be a next patch. It’s static, unchanging, immutable.
It feels like for the first time in my almost 40 years of gaming I can just play what’s there and not fret about the future. If something doesn’t work the way I want, I don’t need to go to the forums and whine about it to devs that never listen or apathetic players and trolls, I can just accept that it is how it is and git gud.
It’s liberating.
