I’ve been trying to get in touch with an old friend, but I keep receiving this message. Still able to see their btag, name, etc. and message other friends but just can’t send messages via the battle.net client. Additionally, they do not show up in the in-game friends list.
Hey there Borden,
I’d start on this one by reinstalling the Battle.net app to see if that helps clear things up. This will basically force the local cache data to resync with what’s on the servers for the account.

Tried a full re-installation but I’m still getting the same error.

For privacy reasons please submit a ticket with the friend’s battletag or email. Make sure to mention any troubleshooting steps (like reinstalling) to them so they know where to start.

I am having the same issue. Uninstalled Battle.net manually and reinstalled Battle.net and I still have the same error message.

I don’t think it is a matter of a friend having removed you. I am trying to chat with my husband right now, and getting the same error. I can’t get through on PC or on phone app.
