There was a World Tree before Hyjal and Vordrassil

This information is from the PTR books recently found.

Eonar planted the first world tree that was grown from a branch given to get by Elune.

It grew into a massive world tree very quickly and life sprung all around it, amanthul saw this world tree as an extension of chaos and ripped it out of Azeroth( he also ripped Y’shraj* out of Azeroth topkek)

This left a deep fissure in the world, Eonar was very sad… but she noticed it’s roots were deep. Remnants of the world tree remained. Eonar charged Freya with protecting and nurturing the life in the crater… apparently in the new age, mysterious guardians( moon dwarves?) appeared dedicated to protect the roots.

Tree name is Elun’Ahir

The book name is The Legend of Elun’,ahir

Now I’m imagining a midget elf.

I thought the one in Northrend was “before” Hyjal.

Whatever.

I don’t know how you got so much information wrong

I don’t think Wrymrest is a world tree…?

I’ll fix it the funny thing is i corrected it from Nzoth

He’s talking about Vordrassil. It was chopped down due to corruption from Yogg-Saron and turned into Grizzlemaw in Grizzly Hills.

Nice nice, yeah well this one was basically before the titan/old god war.

Nope, Vordrassil was one of the “great trees” planted by Fandral Staghelm after the War of the Ancients using branches from Nordrassil, the tree in Mt. Hyjal. It had to be cut down when it’s roots got too close to Yoggy’s prison and he began corrupting it.

This new “world tree” was called Elun’Ahir and was planted shortly after the Titan’s defeated and imprisoned the Old Gods, and then subsequently ripped out by Aman’thul for introducing “uncontrolled chaos” to Azeroth.

The book says it was planted before the war

Looking back at the text, it actually seems to me that it was created during the war. Eonar hoped it would drive the Old Gods corruption away, but Aman’Thul destroyed it. However, since the Titans were preoccupied with their war against the Old Gods, only Eonar seemed to notice its roots were still there.

This makes no sense.

Actually, this entire story makes no sense. Freya guarded Sholazar, which was a cradle of life developed by the Titans and Keepers.

So why would the Titans, who were spreading life across Azeroth, rip out a tree? And how is Freya guarding two different places at once?

Sounds like someone at Blizz doesn’t know what they’re writing.

It got ripped out because it wasn’t part of Aman’thul’s plans for an orderly Azeroth. The story implies that Eonar acted without Aman’thul’s permission and introduced an uncontrolled variable to his orderly designs, so he threw a fit and tore the tree out.

It definitely seems like they’re building up a sort of schism in the Pantheon of Order between those who take Aman’thul’s side of extreme control vs Eonar’s side of protecting life even when it’s not orderly.

It sort of makes sense to me. Aman’thul clearly takes inspiration from Zeus who was a massive control freak and a petty jerk. I’d also say maybe a little bit of Odin, but we also have Keeper Prime Odyn, so that would be redundant. Aman’thul throwing a fit when something didn’t follow HIS plans isn’t too surprising.

Our continued existence rest solely on whether or not we continue to be of use to the Highfather’s plans.

What is it with these Order dudes throwing fits? LOL

That might actually be an interesting storyline.

Odyn was Aman’Thul’s chief agent so…

On the matter of Elun’Ahir: it is probably Il’gynoth from Un’Goro Crater…

In otherwords G’Hanir is a Nathrezim Spy of Denathrius and alongside Yogg-Saron is one of the two Architects of the Pattern.

Furthermore one should note that there will be 6 World Trees in total: Il’gynoth, Nordrassil, Shaladrassil, Andrassil, Teldrassil and Amirdrassil with G’Hanir being a 7th Tree.

Furthermore among the Great Trees(where we face the Dragons of Nightmare) containing Portals into the Dream there is Andrassil as standing among them just as G’Hanir stood among the 6 World Trees. In otherwords a Fractal.

In other words there must be a G’Hanir Avatar among the Great Trees: case in point the Drustvar Tree into the Dream(or Thros as the Drust call it) has a Pool similar to the one the Black Goat with 7 Eyes sleeps over.

Ironically just as G’Hanir stood out amongst the World Trees so must a Cosmic Force stand out amongst the 6 Cosmic Forces and be an Avatar of the 7th Force: Death. Azeroth is Death and the Earthmother.
