I only recently noticed it, but apparently you can’t do unrated solo shuffle anymore. I think this is a mistake.
I decided to main a healer in SL when solo shuffle was introduced. Before that, I didn’t really heal much at all.
As a way to learn how to heal arenas, I decided just to learn healing in unrated solo shuffles. It was pretty brutal at first – but after about the 10th game I started to get the hang of it. Unrated solo shuffle was a great environment to learn in because it’s fast paced like a 2s and 3s arena but I didn’t really feel pressure or bad if I did badly – I would just queue up again with a different team.
I strongly believe that we could get many people more interested in learning healing if unrated solo shuffle was brought back. If someone wants to learn healing, they have to go learn in rated (which isn’t good for anyone) or try to go learn in 2s and 3s (which isn’t a great way to crash course healing either.)
Games that have competitive solo queues still have unrated solo queues as a place to practice. I think Blizzard should bring unrated solo shuffle back. There are times I’d still like to experiment in heals but don’t want to risk my rating in a rated solo shuffle.
What do you all think?
