There Should be Requirements For New Players Before Tanking A Dungeon

Logged in to level alt chill first dungeon of the day. Saw tank was new player …then i told my brain okay lets just chill see where this one goes because me and my brain dislike new player tanks because they :

  1. dont know directions where to go
  2. kill everything
  3. waits for dps to pull rather than doing tanks stuff
  4. wont read chat (not all new tank)
    5.slow

Please make new players requirement before they can tank a dungeon.

I know not everyone will agree with me but just want to rant because i just did a 1 hour 26 minute waycrest manor.

Edit : i changed the title becuase i worded it wrong what i was trying to word out. This is the right title not me saying new players should not tank but there need to be requirements before thanking like a game of dps role or healer. Because as a tanker, you are the leader by default.

Edit 2 : And still not many people will agree with this is my thoughts many not agree I like KFC Burgers than Burger King.

People like you shouldn’t be allowed to play WoW at all.

That’s a very restrictive opinion. Leveling dungeons is where you learn to tank.
They’re not that serious.

It’s OK to be annoyed in life sometimes

It wouldn’t bother me if it took that long to finish if it’s a new player/someone learning. Got to learn to tank somehow and maybe this new player will make a great contribution to the shortage of tanks. Hopefully his groups will treat him kindly since we have all been new once, and he’ll continue tanking.

No, be less of a tool.

New players should be able to do anything they want. They’ll never learn how to tank if they never try it, hell I encourage people to tank we have so very few tanks. We have tanks, but we could have more.

Queued dungeons are all easy enough for a newbie to tank. :dracthyr_love_animated:

Do you know how to tank let me ask you that before all else.

Yep this. There can be no new tanks if newbies can’t learn to tank in leveling dungeons.

Also, why get mad at killing everything in a leveling dungeon. It’s more XP, more chances at BoEs, and there’s no timer or reward for skipping as much of the dungeon as possible. Don’t try to minmax freaking leveling dungeons into oblivion, it’s like getting angry at a kid for riding a bike with training wheels instead of a tournament-grade racing bike.

Did a new tank slow down your time? How are they supposed to learn how to tank when you prevent them or someone who is overgeared carries everyone?

That you all fell for this low tier bait. You bring shame to the forums. Dishonor on you!

This is part of the MMO experience. Try partaking in MMO methods by expressing where to go instead of not saying anything and sulking about it, silently.

XP is XP.

Even with “proper tanks”, DPS will still be pulling. I doubt they were “waiting for DPSers to pull”.

Maybe they do but just don’t respond.

Slow and steady wins the race.

To be devil’s advocate for a moment, You actually get more XP per minute or hour if you finish the dungeon faster versus killing everything inside.

The bonus XP at the end is the majority of all the xp you get while inside. That’s why you don’t want to do that.

Please forgive me for the WOW Forums sins I have committed.

Sure, but that’s the minmaxing I’m talking about and not something you can really rely on in a pug setting. If someone wants to pump leveling dungeons like clockwork they should have a crew to queue with.

Yep.

Manor even with a noob crew…is not over an hour lol.

if it it is…yeah you leave that one. Hell I don’t even stay for 1 hour of lfr “fun” runs.

Sure to an extent. But there is no harm in doing that. And there’s a great boon if you do.

If I was a new player I would want to know that
