Like, let me get this straight. There are strict restrictions on transmog for armor type, cloth, leather, mail, plate… But you can go on to the store and just purchase something that can be used on any class or race or anything at all? Even clowney looking costumes that break the immersion of the game on role-playing servers? It doesn’t make sense

I completely agree. Once, I tried to get an item more than ten times but didn’t succeed. Then, I went with a friend to help him get a different item from the same raid, and the item I was after dropped. However, I couldn’t add it to my collection because my class wasn’t the right one.

Agreed. I also don’t like that I have to be certain levels to transmog into appearances from different expansions.

Yep. And its insane to me all classes have access to an eye patch mog. Cept for cloth. You know, a PATCH… Not available to a CLOTH class. Theres a plate patch, a mail one, a leather one, but not cloth. Okay then.

Agreed. Free the transmog. I think class sets should remain locked, but everything else is fair game.

I mean… you can run around as a Vulpera (for example) and cosplay as a warden… something not even all night elves are allowed to wear. Can’t be more idiotic than that. xD

Fully agree! The existence of those silly store mogs that can be mogged by any armor type proves that the restrictions are outdated and unnecessary.
Free the mog.

Since we’re getting the ability to learn any mog, i would like to see the only restriction to tmog left be class armor.
Other than that, let hunters use leather, mages use plate, let us hide pants, let us us e holiday armor at any time of the year. We have idiots running around in a dumb murloc costume, the “integrity” of armor identity is gone. go hog wild already

Still just wish to mog one-handers over two-handers. Not sure why Warrior is restricted like that.
But if we do that, how am I going to confuse players into thinking my holy priest is a Warlock when I dress up in Tier 1 Warlock recolor set from TBC?
Yeah but in TWW that is supposed to change to where any armor class can go in and get items for another armor class they have.
Items the character can’t wear will go into the selection for tons they have that can wear said items.

We already have this for legion artifacts so the tech is there.
Let sv hunters do 2 handers > 1 handers
enhance dual wield to 2 hander
fury warriors 2 handers to 1 handers ETC
i doubt anyone cares about the auto attack speed, it’s all about the aesthetic right?

The day heritage armor become a thing is when it probably should have happened. Rocking full plate on a maghar cloth wearer was probably the line.

I’ve been arguing that they should remove restrictions for years, and I only feel more and more vindicated as time goes on. Restricted customization is an outdated antiquity of MMO design that needs to be thrown out the window ASAP.
…Also I reaaaaally want to be able to mog one & off-handers into two-handers and vice versa. PLEASE. I’m so, so sick of not being able to use a staff when I inevitably get 6 daggers from my weekly chests, lol.

Yes please. I’ve been going to bat for this for years now. All the restrictions need to go away.
At this point, any transmog restrictions are arbitrary.
If you’ve added it to your collection, you should be able to mog it.
