There needs to be some sort of punishment for people that leave keys

My poor siege key went from +13 down to +10 because in each attempt, one dps decided to leave after 1 wipe. We were still doing good and on time. So much for picking people with high io scores.

I think i’ve had more reliable runs with people under 1k. Anyways, these guys can just hop on keys as much as they want and leave as many as they want. What gives?

If people are leaving your keys routinely, it might be time for some difficult introspection.

Actually, you should aim for people around the same score you have.

Hey, I know I’m bad. Though I mainly experience this on tougher places like siege. It’s why I normally reset that key down to 10.

Does IO account for partial runs or just full runs? Maybe they are worried their score might be hurt if they keep going.

Either IO needs to add a rating system or someone should start up a website were you can rate people.

I mean, I don’t think your score can ever go down. Even if you don’t time the key, your score should still go up. Just less.

And the leaver outs themselves. Some people cannot handle personal responsibility to the dodge, like annastasi here.

Nope. I dont leave keys. But I also don’t think anyone is obligated to stay in one.

People need to be smarter about how they build groups, and if they find others leaving frequently due to poor play, perhaps they should strive to address that.

As always, I suggest a guild, Community or m+ discord. Keys are best run with friends.

Of course not, you do not do what you reflexively defend and are offended over when it is rightfully called out.

Just give them a deserter debuff.

A deserter debuff would be nice and it should stack up. No reason to commit to a key and leave mid way, just like in a bg.

Far fewer people drop out from keys of you chat to them before you start the key. It sucks when no one says anything.

Hi
finish key
Thanks
leave group

It’s a social game just chat to one another. It doesn’t even have to be voice but it does help

Surprised your message didn’t end with something along the lines of, “Can’t wait for classic. Classic is better, retail is bad, lulz.”

That does not help. I stopped doing m+ as people consider it some kind of “power” in their sad lives to bomb keys on purpose should you not coddle them.

Na I don’t care for classic at all. I still think the game is best played in a social manner though. Ideally with friends on voice but it doesn’t have to be.

Maybe im lucky maybe you are unlucky but that has never been my experience. Pretty much everyone wants to time the key or they wouldn’t be there. At worst people are apathetic but not malicious.

Deserter debuffs are a bad idea. There are heaps of reasons a run should be abandoned and players shouldn’t be punished for that.

Reasons like? Timing it or not, your key isn’t the one being demoted. You still get loot at the end of the dungeon.

Have you considered joining a guild?

Blizzard said from the beginning that M+ wasn’t meant to be pugged, it was meant for “organized groups”.

I am in one. Sadly the tanks and anyone else that runs keys on it has their own little tight group and I’m not part of it  So i basically have to pug my way through keys.

I meant a GOOD guild.

IO is an issue, but it can me a helpful tool too if…
IO should make some sort of notice:
Player left key at 15:24
Something like that would put people out there that quit on notice.
Just a thought…
