There needs to be more in game guides and assistance

Feel free to add your thoughts, but the one I came across today was on my DK. I have never taken them to Dalaran, not old old Dalaran, not old Daalaran, not the TWW quest chain rubble Dalaran and I don’t even have a hearthstone option to get there.

But that also means I don’t have a way to get to my class order hall, and therefore no way to enchant my weapons with the DK enchant. New players who don’t do any reading and just go down the default levelling path won’t ever know those enchants exist.

I was a baby Blood DK in S3 DF. (Fyralath and Augury went HARD).

I ain’t the brightest tool in the shed but along the journey I did end up googling on what the best weapon enchant is and how to get it and then came to the realisation on that it was free! I did use enchanted weapon before then and IMO that’s ok. It made finding out rune enchants all that more exciting when I figured it out.

In 8 days I celebrate my 3 year WoW starting anniversary but I still remember how the game was when I was new. Honestly IMO it isn’t too hard for new players to find out, we google everything anyway. Maybe helped that I came from a more convoluted MMO but WoW seems straightforward.

There’s a portal to Aszuna in the mage tower. I understand the game doesn’t tell you this, but it is where all the other portals are.

New players can also ask other players about things. It’s an MMO. Interact with the people around you to find out things. That’s how you make friends.

EDIT: I have to ask. DK enchants only in the class order hall? Are you talking about things like Rune of the Fallen Crusader, etc?

There’s two ways to get them.

You can Death Gate and go level 2.
Death Gate changes to class order hall if you do Legion intro, then you also go level 2.

Something tells me OP doesn’t know about the Death Gate spell…

Eh. Used to be true but not anymore apparently. Every time I type anything into the game, it’s met with complete silence. At least in /1 and /2. I suspect it’s because all my shards died during SL and never recovered in DF. These days if I want to elicit a response I need to troll /1 with a message about Trump or something.

You’re asking the wrong people. Find a guild or a community. My guild has exploded in the past months, and our guild chat is constantly flooded with groups forming and new players asking questions.

Don’t new DK’s get Death Gate, the spell that transports them to the Ebon Hold? Do you not have Death Gate?

Yea….do ask other players and get trolled into OBLIVION. I’m aware that there are genuinely nice people that play, but man they are tough to find these days. :sob::sob::sob:

If you use your Death Gate, you’ll go to the Eastern Plaguelands version of Acherus and you can use the rune forges there to put a rune on your weapon.

That’s me entire point of making this post, a new player, someone who has not played Legion or earlier, someone who can skip Legion, someone who doesn’t read, like you, does not know about this place well enough to know they can get free enchants.

But you do know. It’s the second quest you do when you make a DK. Paying attention is great.

EDIT: if they aren’t reading their spells and the map, why do you think they’d read in game resources?

Well I don’t man, I made this DK in remix and skipped EVERYTHING, the game didn’t tell me jack all about anything to do with the game, came into Dornogal and didn’t have any easy way to get to Dalaran, WoD or SL, all the quests get cut off, you have to Google the entire thing and half the comments are all wrong telling you to go places that are not the right place for a new player.

I confess I went about 3 weeks using the basic spells from my class trial and took ‘nothing’ else on my skill hotbar.

Honestly ignorance is bliss! I got through two zones in BfA just fine .

That’s kind of what you get for taking a non standard route to leveling your class. It’s like boosting to max level and not knowing your class: Remix was basically a large boosting event that doesn’t teach you your class.

Yeh, and my point, game tells you nothing half the time.

We can’t be sitting here going “OMG OP YOU DUMB”, just because we know how the game works and have been here forever, it does not mean everyone does. Fact is most people don’t know much of anything about this game because the game itself tells you nothing.

So I see we’ve circled back around to my first point.

Ask somebody in game, Akapally. It’s an MMO. Myself and plenty of other people I know are happy to help new players.

“Excuse me I am new and want to know where to enchant my weapons using the in game DK rune enchants… THAT THE GAME NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT”.

Sure, that works.

I’m young enough in WoW to remember how it felt to start.

The only super confusing part for me was on where to go after Exiles Reach. The game at the time didn’t make it easy and you go from being guided to being blind very quick.

Unless players have an established connection with friends that help or are willing to put in the hard ‘research’ hours then I could have easily seen myself quitting then.
But everything else I believe you can take your time with.

I agree. Having more in-game knowledge would be invaluable.

They could implement npcs and libraries that your character could go to, or update the guide tool… (Just spitballing)

Info about this game is quite fragmented and could use a little streamlining.
