More employee time is lost looking into serial report people that the ones that file valid reports. The punishment should be harder on the ones wasting blizz’s time.
There needs to be equal action against players who just randomly report people to disrupt their game

OK, and how would they go about doing that?
count the number of reports in a given time. If someone or something is actually looking at them is should be too hard to flag them out by just using a counter,when they reach a certain number of reports , investigate them…not that hard of a thing to go about doing.
What do you mean? So essentially you want to limit the amount of reports someone can make?
How do you know if they aren’t reporting people they think is worth a report? That’s the thing is many people think that when they are reporting people that it’s legitimate. At the end it’s only Blizzard fault for automating stuff.

i know there are people who just troll other people with it constantly. It shouldn’t be an item to use against someone you don’t like, it needs to be used for valid infractions.

They generally don’t even look at the reports. They just wreck whoever gets enough of them.

Basically.
Even afk report doesn’t even check to see if actually afk. retail side even. I’ve gotten a few surprise load screens in mid swing lol.
and it was in early wrath (or late tbcc, forget which) we had ban storms with the totally not automated system.
Just so happened we got lucky and streamers were getting banned while streaming play. that sped up overturns for those affected
i definitely agree with this post this is somethin that needs to go in for real. reporting in this game will have big consequenses for ur account and theres so many people that report for literally nothin. they need to get in trouble. i support 100% i been sayin this to game masters

How would you ever know this ban for misuse of reporting was being used? The answer is, you wouldn’t. So you’re really just asking for the safety blanket blue post saying those really bad awful no good players have your proposed penalty to look forward to.
Short story, don’t do bannable things, don’t get banned. Think you’re the victim of a false ban, appeal it. Don’t make this out to be some huge problem. It’s not.
Sorry, but if you’re in a BG with a name that makes no sense at a glance on a DK or a Rogue and you have less than 20k HP, I’m reporting you.

If it makes you feel any better, the last 3 AV weekends Ive caught 3 day bans for sitting in Drek’s room and trolling the alliance when they pull 
nothing I can do but accept the “I was abusing the game and given an unfair advantage” bs the GM told me, oh well… Automated bans from reports woo.

If you believe player reports lead to bans without Blizzard investigating those reports, then you believe that multiboxers have the power to ban whoever they want. Multiboxers can go around banning all the bots like a GM could.
