So I killed the Lichen king yesterday and now I’m wondering who will replace him in the future expansion. I mean there always has to be one right ?

With parody quotes such as, “Fungmourne Hungers!” and, “There must always be… a Lichen King…” killing this humanoid mushroom is fun, guy. (Pun intended.)
He’s in a small cave located at 51.83, 79.01 - easily seeable near the entrance. And easy to solo.

What zone is this in? I don’t think I have completed this story line yet.

Most of the Lichen King is below ground. You just killed one of the fruiting bodies.

Think he is just a rare. Not sure if there is a quest associated w/ him.

There’s an achievement to kill him with a Sporonite Bomb.

Maybe it’s just to hit him with one. [Clever Use of Mechanical Explosives] is the achievement. Listed under Quests > Battle for Azeroth.
