I completely disagree. I am part of a guild, but essentially play the game solo. I’ll run a few things with guildies from time to time, but it’s definitely the exception, not the rule.
I have always enjoyed end game material. Sure I don’t get to do all the harder raids, but honestly, LFR is great for a more casual approach to the game. And I certainly enjoy the rep grind and world quests and all the fun that end game has to offer.
And lastly, I don’t know if you played during TBC or not. Hours trying to get into pugs??? psshhhh… There were times I would be playing and wouldn’t be able to get into ANYTHING the whole day. Essentially, you would be in gen chat/trade chat trying to pug. And unless you had a serious guild, forget it. Hardly did dungeons back then.
It’s WAY better now.
My best recommendation would be Hiring a group to do 5 Man Mythic+ content and pay them 10,000G per player for each run.
If lacking the gold, it is best to make a Scramble for the Shadowlands and take up mining and herbalism to collect every natural resource you stumble across for profit on the Auction House.
Well…you are just 192. The competition in pugs are high for DPS bro even if It’s just normal. Try to get to 200 first…or lead raid yourself.
Use fake achievements like me.
I dunno.
Most sane friends would even find WoW in its current state to be distasteful.
For me when I played the pain was getting everyone on at the same time and wanting to do the same thing. So I ended up pugging most of the time anyway lol. I was im a casual guild though. Sp being told to just join a guild is not the solution to the problem. You still need tons of time to get anywhere in this game.
Normal raid gear is 200 item level. Normal raid is how you get to 200 item level. Why would I do a raid that drops 200 item level gear if I am already at that item level?
Because Pugs won’t invite you below that…not their fault they have many options.
That’s like saying I need a bachelor’s to work at mcdonald’s.
Doing the raid as a prerequisite for doing the raid literally makes zero sense. 192 is absolutely fine for content that is tuned for 171.
This has been an issue for years and years. I know it was definitely an issue for Siege of Orgrimmar, where it took me several months to get AotC despite my enhancement logs proving I knew what I was doing.
Unfortunately, there isn’t really anything you can do besides the obvious stuff. Pugs are generally going to take people who already outgear the content so that they can get an easy run themselves, in theory. Learning groups do exist, but they can be tough to get into. Without an active guild and the “right” achievements, you’re pretty much screwed unless you buy a carry and get the achievement that way.
It’s miserable. I feel ya.
Look…Right now those bachelors people are applying to work at Macdonald…If Normal raid = Macdonald ofc.
If you are one of the managers, what will you choose? You or 200 item levels people with 10/10 experience.
This is true. I mean, it may cost more to hire the bachelor’s holder at McDonald’s, but if they have the experience, They get the job. At least, if I were in charge, that’s what I would do.
Unless of course, the non-bachelor degree holder definitely knows the fights, then its a toss up.
I enjoy talking about recruiting since it’s part of my career.
You’d actually be setting yourself up for failure hiring someone with a degree for an entry-level fast food job over someone without a degree. The person with a degree is going to leave much sooner than the person without a degree because they have better options in the long run.
A more extreme example of this is getting an application from someone with C-suite experience vs. a teenager for that job. You’d be out of your mind to hire the former over the latter if both can do the job.
Yes, not your point, I know.
Yeah, this is WoW not real life…so no.
I usually just spam the /2 for hot babes to chat with while waiting. 60% of the time it works, everytime.
That’s exactly what I said
200 ilvl puts you at normal raid gear, m+ 5/6, and the 1400 bracket in PvP.
The handout gear this xpac literally puts you in the middle of “meaningful” content.
This has been said about every expansion
If you are talking about the upper level content, then I would agree. But by and large, I don’t think that’s the case. I do think they want as many people playing as possible, and why wouldn’t they? That just means more money in their pockets. Hence why they implemented LFR such a long time ago. To get more people involved and make the game “more fun for more people”.
No, you get 8 out of 14 slots at 197. Your weapon is 184, and if you need an off-hand, that may be low level. 190 essentially is with leveled covenant gear.
This was a lot more viable before mythics. The gogogo meta makes typing in chat a…challenge.
