I have no reason to get gear. I get more gear and a crab scales with me and its harder to do world content. There is no point for me to do so, so then why should I play this game?
This realization has made it hard for me to even log in. I play to get more powerful. Not for the world around me to not have to do anything and be scaled with my work
No one knows for sure. It’s a dumb concept and means getting fat loots means little.
I’m not a fan of scaling, but I have found that once you reach a certain point (around ilvl 340 I think) you start to out power the scaling. I can now solo most WQs with a little work.
It was a dumb idea and they doubled down on it in the whole world including dungeons etc. Its a boring game design.

heroic dungeons are 325. ur literally just above the basic gear floor for a 120 character

Mob scaling doesn’t scale as fast as power creep.

In legion, they had to readjust scaling because we were melting outdoor content by the time we hit the Nighthold.
You know this is now a pet peev with me, I get scaling is good for agressive mobs… but really, I can shoot beams from my eyes… and a crab… can kill me, wth is that about? A deer… maybe… a boar maybe, it has happened men hunting did die… but a crab… really? Oo

Brother go to the beach… unless it gets lucky and hits the artery on your thumb, youre not going to die. I live in a country full of things that want to kill you, blue ringed octopus, spiders, crocs ,sharks, drop bears >.> , people… govenment… <.< I know what can kill me without armour… with armour… a crab… not likely. There is fantasy and then there is BS. Im calling the latter.
In fairness, there doesn’t exist a crab on Earth that’s as large as some of the smaller ones we see in Azeroth.

i can tell you i/m having a much easier time @372 ilvl than i was @350 ilvl for example. there’s a very noticeable difference.
yes they scale, no they dont scale nearly enough ; yes it’s worth grinding your ilvl up.
Actually, we have poison crabs too now.
This is exactly the case and at around ilvl 350 you start blowing stuff like a champ again!
The purpose of ilvl scaling is to punish casuals who don’t do progression content, because their gear will always lag behind world scaling, making world content perpetually painful.
eh. you still scale faster than the mobs. your still getting stronger faster than them. your just not one hitting two hitting them like before.
If you are having trouble killing things in world content then it’s not scaling that’s the issue
