Naga already exists in WoW. The talk about making it playable is the problem.
Playable Naga, in the horde, in the alliance, or being “shared”, and mingling around the playable races that already seem like a clown cart of faction, is a mockery of their race.
Every playable race turns into a mockery in the hands of the devs and the hands of the players.
I think if they had it as a playable race they could make them like everquest did with the Iksar. Hated by everyone faction wise yet able to intermingle with other players.
I fully agree release the Naga’s and murlock’s as merc for both factions …if they can force the dark iron to choose a faction they can force it upon others races as well
A big yes to all of the above, they’re all awesome and should be playable.
I’d love one. They should definitely be made playable.
Yeah, the Naz’dorei fan concept over on MMO-champ was great. They were basically sea elven weresnakes, and I’d play one in a heartbeat, given the chance. I want a naga.
Still think those and the keepers would make great balance druid forms.
Bruh. It might be time to give up the dream. Other than the several problems with their models that everyone and their dog has pointed out before, the fact that they’re heavily ingrained in the game’s bestiary, and there being zero chance of Azshara bending the knee to the leaders of either faction, the naga as a race are completely irrelevant to the expansion so far outside of some rumored future content.
We’ve had naga stories front and center in at least four expansions, and even after all of them, I have a hard time finding them an interesting race. Other than a few being loyal to Illidan, their traits mainly boil down to:
Mutant elves
Slave drivers
Old God allies
Simp for a queen who would gladly doom the planet to save her own hide
It’s dracthyr. It’s not an orcish word, because they weren’t made by orcs. There was never officially a ‘k’ or an apostrophe, and it doesn’t say “drak’thyr”, “drac’thyr”, “drak’thir”, etc. when you hover over a character of the race. I can’t fathom how so many people on this board can refuse to memorize something that the game points out, especially when it’s shown on the damn character creation menu.
Why the hell would they join the Horde when the only “connection” they have are Blood Elves, and they just drove their own people who studied void out of their country?
Also, they were associated with the Sunfury / Kael’thas, and Lor’themar doesn’t particularly like anything to do with Kael’.
Meanwhile, Void Elves, Kul’tirans, and the Shen’dralar all exist.
