There is a big and growing Audience for Classic+

From the audience of SoD, and the population on the Epoch server and Ambershire Turtle releasing today, it really goes to show that there is a good chunk of people interested (and increasing) for a Classic+ experience, that sadly Blizzard has yet to give much of.

I am hoping Blizzard is taking notes from what content has been created in the Pserver community.

When it comes to the future of Classic, I would argue Classic+ is far more important then Anniversary TBC (or WoTLK). People have already run through those expansions, but have yet to play a full Classic+ Blizzard experience. I do think an Era server should be made for TBC and WoTLK, no more Anniversary seasons post TBC.

Instead allow Classic+ to be the main priority. Never going beyond lvl 60, but over time new content is added to the world, from lvling zones, new dungeons, new raids, new quests, maybe even new races to play as. Giving reason to return, whether to play an old 60 toon on a new raid, or lvl up some alts in fresh content.

Yes classic+ has a very large interest however there is a small vocal minority that hates anything that makes classic more enjoyable.

I can only imagine the rmt that will be taking place on classic+

I’m looking forward to it, I just hope they remember that retail exists and we don’t need a second one. Most folks would be happy with Vanilla with a reasonable class balance pass and more content. Some small QoL features would be fine but they need to tread carefully. A lot of folks here advocate for a lot of what retail has, forgetting that they choose to play this game and not that one.

I think OSRS is probably a good role model for the Classic+ team, should they decide to move forward with it.

If classic + had personal loot, it reduce some of that.

No one has defined classic+ beyond like features from modern inspiration in era. I like that definition.

Its just vague as hell. I throw in personal loot, all content no exceptions, And there is a solid part of an idea for C+ I see.

and lots of players would hate that. Welcome to C+ threads.

Fix old wow!

Players put up ideas, based on later wow even.

Not like that!

All the nah Sayers are just era players who won’t play anyways. Their opinions are irrelevant.

And there is an even smaller vocal minority that breathes attention to them in almost every post, for some reason :woman_shrugging:

So seriously why even bother to focus on them so much? Just advocate for the version you prefer and call it a day

there is a big audience for c+ but it has to be done right without fully diving into being classic in name only and being just a version of retail in practice.

im not sure where the line is for that.

This is the safest and most effective way really.

Want blood elves but not DK…well TBC era 4 eva is your home. Want dks but not the rekt world…wrath 4 eva.

I don’t say that as a nay sayer. I dig all the turtle and epoch players finding the light. the light ascension players found years ago.

I found hunter with rogue casts fixes era hunter real nice. give it better rogue melee, you hate being in melee less. Hell I’d have ascension hunter with rogue casts better than retails SV melee designs really.

Its cool some have found modded wow. Modded games never had agreements. See any sp modded game ever. I started to make my own mods for 1 reason.

I did not completely like what was out there for some game areas, so I made my own in my own vision.

Ascension was never mass liked for being too heavily modded.

now turtle and epoch carve up the people who like their mods more mild.

the classic + that intrigue me as ascension fan based…turlle and epoch would not like. I and turtle players would not like an epoch copy pasta completely. and epoch players chose that, not turtle for their own reason too.

They are clowns and provide entertainment when I call them out on being hypocritical elitist.

Blizzard knows everything they need to know about C+. It has been talked about non-stop for many years, now

It does seem like they started working on it after SoD dev stopped but no one really knows for sure. The Classic team likes to play stuff close to the vest, for some reason

Private servers are capable of making Classic+

Blizzard is not.

If you want Classic+, it’s already here. Go play it. I’m currently leveling a gnome priest on Menethil.

There’s nothing left of WoW after TBC Anniversary.

Its coming, dont waste your time on pirate servers as these will be shut down as soon as the official release is soon

They haven’t even announced an official release.
I’m expecting something at BlizzCon and then maybe an official release just before or just after TBC to catch all the people that have no interest in TBC Anniversary.

Forced personal loot for all content was one of the worst additions to wow, up there with LFR.

With GDKP banned, the remaining slices of the pie for RMT are consumable, boe, and boosting purchases. I might be missing something in there, but the only thing personal loot would really combat is the drivers for GDKP, which Blizzard has already addressed through policy. In the absence of that policy, I do think personal loot would mitigate that.

I’m not really a fan of it though. Loot and its distribution is a ceremony in Vanilla, and versions of the game based around it (which hopefully Classic+ will be). I never really liked the loss of that in retail… it just takes away a part of the experience I enjoyed. Some people don’t want to care about loot, they just want to have it or not and move on. I don’t share that view but I also believe this is another one of those things that, if taken away, chips away at the experience that is Vanilla WoW.

We don’t know what kind of game Blizzard is going to make yet. If it’s retail 2.0 then yea, this will fit right in. If they want to maintain and preserve separate experiences, I don’t think it will. That kind of fast-paced, lobby gameplay is a retail vibe, not a Vanilla one.

Not dumping on your preference by the way, it’s valid, I just think it’s the wrong move for this type of game.

Y’all think retail 2.0 is anything with duel spec. You era players won’t play it anyways who cares what you think. Oh no there might be arenas and classes will be balanced and not just warrior dominant. Maybe paladin will get a taunt spooky retail like oh no. Warlock might be able to summon a felguard oh no that’s basically retail. Boomy might do good DPS. The world is over. It’s retail 2. Oh no.

They will never shut down the ones out right now. They actually can’t do it

They have already tried. Do you know what they heard in return?

“Go stuff yourself”

(They’re still up btw)

If the server is not in the US/CA it isn’t going to ever get strong armed off the net. This is because not all countries are subject to US IP laws, (most don’t actually) so there isn’t even a point for them to even begin a suit even if they wanted to. Even the region Nostalrius was in would have been fine to ignore blizzard, but they chose not to

“don’t waste your time” like playing on official servers isn’t a waste of time? lol
