Much interaction with or communication between the rogue developer and the community.
I wouldn’t expect much from anyone within Blizzard regarding it.
They have zero intention of making the required changes or reworks before the launch. Multiple classes have seen late-cycle reworks and help to their trees. Even Shamans got a (minor and absolutely useless for enhance) rework to their tree, which shows how little Blizzard cares for the class at this point.
We got a feedback thread for one of our Hero specs, Trickster, and our feedback was that it’s bad.
They resolved it by not having more feedback threads.
You’re not really being fair here. They waited until it was basically Beta to release Fatebound and Deathstalker, which look completely rushed, so the reason there weren’t feedback threads is because they had opened the Beta forums so they could just ignore the feedback in the Rogue thread there.
There hasn’t been any communication there either. OP’s point still stands. ZERO communication from Devs.
Honestly, if people want to see some movement on the balancing issues, the rogue community is going to have to do something a bit more organized and loud.
As it sits, we’re already consistently in the lowest 3 played classes basically every single patch. The amount of voices compared to something like Paladin is just not there, so Blizz thinks they don’t have to listen.
So, if we want to see something, odds are we need to:
A. Find someone who can do what warlocks did back when they dumpstered their class, and someone posts a huge ad through Reddit or something that gets their attention.
B. Mass coordinated unsubs on the same day paired with “feedback” tickets letting them know that they need to move on this or lose a noticeable chunk of money.
C. Both of these
D. Any or all of the above while also requesting a refund for TWW to prove the point.
E. All stop playing the class and watch the playrate plumit to zero, maybe sparking some internal attention (highly doubt this would do anything, they already don’t care as is)
or
F. We accept that Blizz is forcing you to play a different class for the patch/expansion and roll with the punches or change classes. I, for one, while absolutely livid, still intend to play my rogue. I just don’t vibe with other classes.
I’d be totally willing to join in on people doing an unsub wave, just to prove the point, but I have neither the energy nor bandwidth to coordinate the noise required to get them to care.
Hurting their bottom line, however, is the only way we are going to get them to care at all at this point.
Yeah, that was kind of the implication there - just trying to lighten the mood with a joke, as I’ve also been one of the voices of discontent about lack of communication from Blizzard or coherence with the class/hero talents.
Rogues don’t have a dev anymore. They just toss us to the janitor the last week of beta, then try to fix any game breaking bugs that might make us do good damage as soon as they appear.
I cry myself to sleep every night telling myself that I exist.
I might be lying to myself.
You exist. Stay strong
I’m fairly certain we don’t have a rogue dev.
On that note, I don’t think that they have dedicated devs for any of the classes anymore… more likely a small team of devs that rotate from class to class, focusing more-so on one or a handful at a time.
Rogue did have a pretty necessary rework sometime back in Dragonflight, which helped the class out quite a bit (primarily due to numerical overtuning), but it could certainly use additional work (similar to Ret Paladins, who got a major rework in DF and additional updates after Hero talents started rolling out).
Except for the fact that Pallies, and Mages are seeing more work in beta again…lol.
