There are three different rogue specs

I like Assassin. Poisons are fun. but outlaw is surprsingly fun too, I held off trying it for so long cuz you know, combat rogue rip xD but pistol shot is what made me like it lol

Just keep in mind that the pistol might get removed in Shadowlands. We don’t yet know how the devs will act on certain kinds of feedback, particularly on some of the more controversial changes for Rogues in recent years such as Outlaw’s pistol-themed abilities.

Hopefully they might go the route of making Rogue ranged attacks more customizable so those who like the pistol can use that aesthetic and those who don’t can use thrown knives or shuriken instead.

There’s a pretty good chance we’ll just get knee-jerk pendulum-swinging “prune-and-replace” changes, though. The devs saying that “some of your buttons will be different” has me suspecting that they are doing more pruning (such as through “prune-and-replace”) in Shadowlands despite claiming that they will be doing “unpruning” and “no major class changes” instead.

I really enjoyed sub rogue prior to the Legion “class fantasy” revamp.

Why they would take some specs and actually look for ways to make them worse is beyond me.

My Rogue plays Sin, feels the best and most Rogue-y to me. Sub feels like a mess to play but it’s great watching Pikaboo destroy people in PvP with the spec. Outlaw is cool but I can’t stand playing a Rogue without Daggers for some reason.

Sin is easily my favorite, followed by sub. Sin just seem so fluid to me, but it’s been my main spec since BC.

there’s actually only one spec

On the contrary, I feel like it’s too hard to kill stuff in horrific visions or even open world as feral, due to it’s DoT mechanic, was playing my alts (fire mage, BM, and assassination) and getting them to 450 ilvl, I realized that as an outlaw rogue I’m killing stuff twice as fast as my feral or even fire mage (aoe wise).

I’m not sure what “combat” are and I don’t like the dice RNG too, that’s why I pick the AGI boost azerite traits for rolling dices. Today I discovered that it’s possible to roll 5 buff at once, I immediately pop adrenaline rush on trash mob because I want to see how much impact those dice buff does but I’m a sucker and I forgot about it afterwards.

I’ve tried Assassination and Outlaw when attempting to fight 3 elites at once, but died in a matter of seconds, I honestly favor Subtlety due to them being quite difficult to kill by elite mobs.

Their survivability rivals that of Frost Death Knights, they just could not tank Dungeons like them; due to Shadow Dance instantly drops threat.
