I’ve been playing tonight on Wow Classic Anniversary and there are currently 6 Layers. Its crazy that at prime time 9-12PM EST you would only have 6 virtual servers, back in the day with wow classic I’m pretty sure there were more than 6 servers. These layers are ridiculously dense and its ruining the gameplay. I’ve never hated playing classic more than right now, I can’t do any quests to level, I’m forced to just grind random low quest zone mobs to level. Please revisit layers and figure out how to balance having enough players to find groups but also not have mobs farmed to scarcity.

How would you pick a different server? There are ONLY 4. two PvP (one of them AU), one PVE and one Hardcore Normal

same issue. it’s sucking all the fun out of the game. won’t be renewing subscription at the end of the month if this is the new ‘normal’
if it’s this bad now, when i’m in the low 30s, what’s it gonna be like in a couple of weeks when everyone is 60 and grinding the same zones… just gonna get worse.

I love seeing so many players, makes the world feel alive. Dead servers and low pop servers exist in era if this isn’t your thing.

I agree. I’m loving anniversary so far. Actually seeing people out in the world makes it feel like an MMO.

I get the frustration, but I’m torn on this subject. One the one hand I’ve grouped more with random people in the area so we’re not competing over quest mobs and on the other hand this doesn’t help collect quests.
I’m only in my teens, so I guess I’ll see. Maybe it’ll calm down by the time I get up in levels
i played during the initial release of wow and, while there was the same sort of thing when new content was released, this constant overpopulation was not an issue because they would add new servers and have caps on server pop. this is not a question of there being people around–it’s a question of going to STV and running around for 5 minutes and not seeing a single mob because they’ve all been farmed.
Make layer hopping harder!!!
In some zones, there are 0 players and 0 mobs. I feel like I am the only living being in an MMO. Some people will always find a way to cheat the system, no matter how loud they claim that they love classic’s slow pace. Some join a guild for the sole purpose of layer hopping invites. Tired of hopping invites in guild chats and I quit that guild.
I have a lvl36 Shaman that I created at the start. I now have a lvl31 Hunter and both times it hasn’t been bad at all. I honestly think the people complaining about this are guildless and not able to layer swap
Get the addon Nova World Buffs so you know which layer you are on, join a big guild and just ask guild “inv need off Layer (insert layer number)”
